Shorten will easily keep the Leadership of the Labor Party.    In just three short years, Abbot and Turnbull have reversed the spectacular Labor loss of 2013 and by doing that, Shorten will remain and, could also be your next PM

As for the Coalition - it will be goodbye Mal.   But who to replace him with?   Bishop and Morrison haven't really got a chance and most of the ones that might are too junior in the Party.    The only contender and next leader will be Abbott

The promise " Labor governs alone, or not at all"

Labor to negotiate with anyone, breaks this election promise.

Fair enough  - as long as they go no where near the greens.    I would rather go to another election than see either party forming any sort of relationship with the greens

I don't want labor to govern Green. Especially if it involves dealing with the greens. I want the libs to win so they can spend the next 3 years  hamstrung Grin Grin

labor and their lackies should just STFU. They have already ruled themselves out of government with a disappointing 35% primary and a premature commitment to back the coalition in forming government.

You mugs made your bed.

I agree. The claim of chaos should come home to roost.

How about dropping your deceitful lies. Just because your party lies, try having some respect for yourself.

Admitting you're deceitful. A major step. Well done.

If Labor doesn't dump billy now, they are stuck with him until after the next election.

The next election, the coalition will not be led by Mal.

billy wasn't competitive with a faiding Mal this time. 35% primary shows this.

As much as it is fun to pretend Abbott will be re-elected as leader of the despot, it will not be Tony.

A descent selection by the coalition could blow Labor out of the water next time.

So please Labor, do the Greens a favour. Keep billy as your leader.

I distrust Mr Shorten.

As does his ex wife and the 2 previous alp leaders

Don't forget young female unionists that Shorten likes to impose himself on.

Sorry, I forgot about that

This result will guarantee Shorten remains leader until at least the next election.

Assuming the libs win govt next week, there is no way Shorten will be challenged. He bought labor to within a whisker of a win after only one term after labors biggest loss in history. Labors rules make another challenge mid way through the next term highly unlikely. Albo will have to wait his turn.

Albanese is not inclined to challenge or force a spill. He's more of the kind who may put his hand up when there's a leadership vacancy.
