I think the European sub-forum needs a new avatar or at least edited to remove one star. Perhaps a red X over one of them.

Or a Union Jack instead of the X.

Oh, for God's sake, stop the drama queening.  You ought to know that to offer any suggestion, or not support one, is tantamount to an uprising against the Big Kahuna!

Get back in your box, you upstart!

Powerpoint preserves transparency when you edit png images:

Powerpoint 14:

Simple method:

Drag and drop the image file into powerpoint.
Right click on the image, size and position.
Size will be selected on the left, change it to crop.
If the width is less than the height, increase it to match under crop position.
Also under crop position, in the left box, put a negative number equal half of the increase you did to width. This will centre the image in the blank white space.
Or similar if height is less than width.
Now go back to size and reduce the image to 33 pixels by typing "33pixel" in the height box.
Right click on picture and save as picture.
Check the file properties, under details. If it is wrong, undo the resize in powerpoint and try again (21 pixels seems to work).

I don't have PowerPoint.

I just used Paint that comes with Windows to re-size those avatars.  It is very basic so anyone could have done it. It wouldn't accept 33 x 33 in some cases, just reverted to 33 x whatever despite what I typed.

You need to crop it square first. It preserves the aspect ratio when you resize.

I have a photo on my computer that I want to use as a new avatar but I just don't seem to be able to change it.

I click on browse and I get My Pictures, but it doesn't seem to matter what I do I can't get it to replace the old one.

And by the time I work with that my time has expired and I have trouble getting back to the profile with my password, which I know is right.

I think you're working under the false assumption that I know something beyond what is the screen and what is the keyboard.
