I've always got along with the Poles at work, but they were Oldies of a bygone era and most likely quite different to the Polish youths of today, as is the case with most Western nationalities that have grown up on trashy and superficial pop culture.

An old Polish guy used to sell Tvarok out the back of his van in the countryside outside of Reading Berkshire where I lived with my Russian aunt as a teenager. My brothers and I used to love the stuff - sprinkled with sugar and eaten slowly - a real treat.

The neighbour there was a Polish woman and her daughter, with the daughter having survived Belsen. Then I worked in a office here in Australia with an old Pole who had survived 3 years in Buchenwald.

The Poles have always had a hard time of it - and then there was the Katyn Forest massacre by the Russians.

I far prefer Poles settle in England than any of the Third Worlders. After a couple of generations they'll quietly meld in with the native Brits, but not so the others who will remain 'alien' as coloured, and who will remain 'alien' as Muslims.
