YES/NO Does someone make you accept a ballot paper when your name is marked off the Electoral Roll, upon entry to the Polling Station? YES/NO So, Belgarion, how do they make it compulsory for you to vote? Mmmm? Oh Brian, you should have accepted defeat with dignity, but like the progressive bigots you so admire, you cannot admit when you have it wrong. In fact one is required to accept a ballot paper when entering the polling place and one must place it in the box. And while there is no one in the booth to actually watch you mark the paper the law is still applicable, if not practically enforceable. You are very keen on quoting the law when it suits your purposes, so why not now? Because to quote someone or other, "the law is an Ass!" Belgarion, this law is not applicable. As I have pointed out, no forces you to accept a ballot paper, no stands beside you when you mark the ballot paper. Therefore, voting is NOT compulsory. When they change that, it will become compulsory. Quote:Not only have you got this wrong, you have called Herbie a liar. I think an apology may be in order. Nope. I did not call him a liar. Quote:Brian Ross wrote on Jun 26 th, 2016 at 3:49pm: Needless to say, it is not compulsory to vote. All that is required is for potential voters to have their names marked off the electoral rolls, nothing more. No matter how you paint it, Herbert, it is a lie to claim otherwise. And we all know you're not a liar, now are you, Herbie? Mmmm? And in your little world if no one is checking your speed then speed limits are only advisory. If a shop doesn't have a security system in place then paying for goods isn't nessacery either. And until the government puts cameras in your house then beating your wife is fair game as well. The life of Brian: You only have to follow the law if there someone looking over your shoulder... Up to you to decide if the penalties that the Government has decided will occur if you are detected breaking the law, are sufficient to deter you from that act... Wow... What an immoral and unethical douchebag you are. You really think it's only cheating if you get caught. No wonder the western world is going to hell in a hand basket with people like you in the population.
