I'm into Rome: Total War and Silent Hunter 4. I was really addicted to the 90s classic Duke Nukem 3D.

No. You download games these days. Some cost as little as $4.99 (American) for a full game, no extra cost.  I haven't been near a games shop for years.  Have a look at Steam ... you download/install that and then check the games you want to download. They take PayPal and credit cards.

I have a friend who plays games such as Elder Scrolls and Fallout, etc.

I usually play Adventure Games or RPGs, but haven't been playing much in the last few years.  I got bored with games.

Do you use Steam?  I think my friend has played those games as well.  I haven't though.

Don't remind me.

My brother and I played it about 10 times in rapid succession, and then never played it again.

I liked pinball machines in the arcades.

Needless to say games have improved dramatically from pong.

I was addicted to them when I was about 11 or 12.

We had a video arcade nearby, called Strombeckers, where I spent all my money.

I had my first home computer in around 1982 and the first actual computer games that I played were the Sierra games such as:

Kings Quest
Black Cauldron
Space Quest
Leisure Suit Larry
Police Quest

My daughter had a Nintendo but can't remember the game she played on that.

Some of the old Sierra (and Lucas Arts) games have been re-made for current computers.  I have Kings Quest 1 on Steam. That game was originally released in about 1983. They have (obviously) upgraded the graphics.  Wink

I bought a dvd rom game for cheap at the dvd store. Played it constantly until the scratches made the game unplayable. Bought an up to date dvd rom copy to replace the scratched dvd rom. Had to change computers and download a lot of stuff. But found that my computer would not load the game on my computer. Eventually downloaded another copy off of Steam website, and have played Rome ever since.

Revisiting Fallout 3, loved Skyrim.  From the total war series, started with Rome and ended up playing Napoleon.
