Re this topic....I personally believe that breast feeding needs to take place in a quiet private place.

Both mother/baby need to relax in order to express milk/breastfeed without the interruption of other people and noises.  I think many people forget that breastfeeding is part of putting baby to SLEEP.

No it's not.

How old fashioned.

How selfish/non-child focussed you are. Then again...it's very typical of your bogan upbringing.

Anyway, I was lucky I had my experienced, hands on mum by my side to help/support/guide me as I learned to breasfeed and nurture my babies.

And when baby slept after breastfeeding, I too had a chance to sleep. Why? It's very tiring work and you burn a lot of energy whilst breastfeeding. So it's impt to renew your own energy levels.

In my case, I could not breastfeed any of my babies beyond 3 months of age. I had big babies who loved their tucker...and I just could not produce enough milk to satisfy them ....so it was Formula after 3 months, as well as Farex etc.

Forgot to mention, having twins didn't help my breastfeeding situation with my 1st 2 babies. I just could not keep up with their demand. I gave up at 3 months...they just wanted way more than I was able to produce.

My last 2 babies were 12 months apart, so again, it was difficult to breastfeed beyond 3 months.  My last pregnancy interrupted my breast milk supply.

Anyway...I'm glad my breastfeeding days are over. It took a lot out of me...energy wise. And all my 4 babies were far more satisfied after they went onto Formula and Farex from 3 months onwards.

Ok....night all  Smiley

A 3 month old wouldn't sleep after every feeding.

Oh what a tangled web we weave ..... Grin

Most baby books recommend you sleep when the baby does, but I saw it as a time to get into some washing , a bath, cook or whatever- I never rested when my baby did- if you can then that's great.  I was very very sleep deprived lol-

Ha! I can relate to that.

You breastfeed away...they slowly fall asleep....you feel buggered after expending all that energy producing milk....you curl up in bed and nap with them.

Then you wake up in total panic within a few minutes because you know another load of washing needs to be hung up lol.

Not sure about you but my nipples hurt like buggery! All my babies had sharp gums. God I so don't miss any of that. Dreadful pain!  Cry

Sharp gums? Never, ever heard that before. From any mum's I know, or have spoken to. Nipples get sore because of the friction caused by the sucking action. I question Farax at 3 months too. Baby's digestive system is just way to sensitive and undeveloped. So you force fed your babies?

herb become an advocate for restaurants to have signs on their windows so when you brows their menus you can see if they permit breast feeding or not..

simple really I think you could be on a winner....

.I personally do not wish to sit opposite a mother feeding her beast....

I go out to enjoy my dinner.. not to watch that anymore than I would enjoy watching the same mother change her babies nappy...

when she place baby on her shoulder and he/.she regurgitates said milk all down her back...

I do not wish to be exposed to that... Angry

and I selfish..???????

bloody too right I am.

Grin Grin Grin

The Sisterhood's gonna be after you now ...

I breastfed mine too and there was once or twice I saw a perve looking on-  Embarrassed  It made me sick, so I am with cods, feeding in an approriate place that is put there for mothers with babies is the preferred thing for me- when my babies were very young- I simply did not go out- that way everyone is happy.

Yep. I hardly went out ....just to my mum's place really.

Those 1st 3 months are VERY VERY IMPORTANT.

Keep a low profile, stay inside, give the baby a chance to develop some immunity. It's hard enough looking after a newborn, let alone a sick newborn baby.

It's all about making sure that baby feeds well so that it can sleep well and thus thrive.

Any other approach is selfish driven bogan BS.

You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you?

So your babies just slept after breakfast for the first 3 months? Then they moved on to farax, with their "sharp gums"?

Oh, and come back with one of your other nics. Give us all a laugh. Fool.

Well, not only that, but last week it was reported that Bill Shorten said "it's the woman's job to organise the child-care and baby-sitting arrangements - NOT the husband's" ...

And so it follows that if a woman is seen in a restaurant with a baby in her arms, then she has some explaining to do to none other than our illustrious Opposition Leader.

She has reneged on her responsibility to her husband to ensure that he has a nice quiet intimate dinner with his darling wife WITHOUT their little SH!TTER! being there to detract from this romantic and intimate occasion.

So I've reversed my decision -- babies should NOT be in restaurants under ANY circumstances.

You're taking Shorten well out of context.

As to mothers breast feeding their children, well you're out of date. Society considers it quite alright these days.
