I fed on demand - there is no other way for babies a baby of two months is not going to obediently just go back to sleep after a feed and most mothers don't either- LJ is either has no kids or is lying

I don't mind women breastfeeding in public as long as it's done discretely.

Most people have heard of the Duggar family and their 19 children. The mother usually had a baby at her breast, but she wore a shawl with the baby underneath it in a sling. She could go shopping, do interviews, housework etc. with a suckling baby attached to her. It was out of sight and out of mind and inoffensive.

Sometimes. You never can tell with the little leeches. One minute they're sucking the life out of your wife, the next playing all coy and asleep.

AlthoughLisa is talking about control feeding as opposed to demand feeding ... although I doubt she knows the difference.

Either way, a 2 month old isn't going back to sleep after breakfast.

Listen here troll... I fed my babies when they were hungry. And THAT was bsically every 3 to 4 hrs. That was the pattern.

It was therefore demand feeding...duh!

And...that was what my life was all about for their 1st 3 months. All 4 babies. And they slept after every feed. Sometimes they slept half way through a feed.

Like hell I could get out of the house. I was forever with a bub at the boob. And it was tiring work. They needed to get back into their cot, I needed to have a quick shower and a rest. How the freaking hell could I be out and about?

Look, I'm sick of repeating myself.

I "hid" my 1st pregnancy for as long as I could.

I wore certain types of clothes to work so that no one had an inkling until I was over the 4 month mark.

After that, everyone was focussed on my tummy bump. I was no longer seen as a line mgr. I was a mummy to be.

I'll never forget the day my manager who incidentally was the CEO of the organization, called me into his office to congratulate me.

He then outlined how my life ought to be run once the baby arrived.

Essentially, he hoped I would embrace a stay at home mummy role because my husband was a lawyer earning a lot of money, we had 2 homes, 2 cars and there was no real monetary need for me to work. Then he started on how ALL professional women should be stay-at-home mothers.

I thanked him politely.....then looked him right in the eye and demanded a redundancy. I got it.

He knew he'd crossed the line.

Having had 2 bubs of my own and I breast fed for up to 8-9 months each.
I had an idea of when feeding time was near, and would, therefore feed them before I left a. the house, or b. the car to feed them, discreetly (but then again I am of the old school and too embarrassed to feed publicly back in the 1980's, also because no one did that back then either).
If I was caught to have to feed where I couldn't 'hide'....I did it with a light bunny rug covering the feed....to the surprise of one female that said "Oh, you have a baby under there" (in a nice way she said it).

Now, forward to this day and age, yes, I have seen many feed in more open fashion in public......some I respect more as they do it in a dignified manner, and some, are just plain exhibitionists.
This exhibitionist I saw, waiting at a lift, with a whole dining area near, (in Cairns we were holidaying) and baby makes just a tiny whimper, and out pops both boobs and feeds on one....she had no blanket, lose vest or cardi, just a tight little knit top.
It was an unprepared and akward display of motherhood I thought.

I don't mind bubby being fed publicly, but as I said, in a dignified manner. Like as if we don't have a choice 'how' we go about it.

Agree

Although most women I've seen feed their bubs in public places do so modestly. It's a private thing, and most women (I suspect) have no desire to be ooogled by men who have forgotten that boobs were made for babies, not them.

It's circumstantial John. I think you'll find most women would be uncomfortable at being oogled at whilst trying to feed. But that's just me. I haven't conducted a survey.
