What should I do?

Just a word of caution!

There are those, such as Politicians, CB's, Bankers in general & TPTB, who may well have greater access to relevant Economic information those many, if not most others.

However, they seldom pass on that information, unless it is possibly of benefit to them!

For example, when do they advertise "tough times ahead"?

How many of them, said the 2007 GFC was coming?

How many have relayed the truth about why the GFC arrived, about why it hasn't really ended & how many have provided the full truth about Demographics & Energy and how these factors really influence the local& Global Economy?

There are "conflicts of interest" involved and anyone looking at "their own, best, long term interests", should do their own research, separate of those whose interests may be conflicted with our own.

WE NEED TO COME TO OUR OWN CONCLUSIONS & DO WHAT IS IN OUR OWN, LONG TERM, BEST INTERESTS!

Given the current status of our Politicians -
I WOULD SUGGEST THAT IT WOULD BE IN OUR BEST, LONG TERM INTEREST TO VOTE OUT EVERY INCUMBENT & SEND THE POLITICAL ESTABLISHMENT A MESSAGE THEY CAN NOT IGNORE!

WE, THE WHOLE PUBLIC WANT THEM TO DO, WHAT IS IN OUR BEST, LONG TERM INTERESTS, NOT DO WHAT IS IN THEIR (the Politicians & their "Mates" & TPTB) BEST, SHORT TERM INTEREST!

SEND OUR MESSAGE & SEND IT THIS ELECTION!!!

VOTE OUT THE INCUMBENTS!!!

As I understand it unless things have changed dramatically this election we are required to number every ballot paper from 1- how ever many candidates are standing.
That said no matter who you vote for your vote actually come down to which major party you preference higher. It's all well and good to say you put Labor and Liberal last and second last but in actual fact you're still voting for which ever one of those parties numbered the highest on your ballot paper, Assuming of course the Greens or an independent are not likely to win your seat. Given it is unlikely Greens and independents will win many more than a total of half a dozen seats combined and those seats in which it may occur are pretty obvious the only way you can not give your vote to a major party is to cast an informal vote so nobody gets it.
I've followed politics for most of my life but they've worn me down now. None of the bastards will get my vote as none of them deserve it.
Until we live in a country where voters are not sheeple that get sucked into voting for Labor or Liberal we will always be screwed by these bastards.
I will cast a vote in the senate. But until we get rid of preferential voting we are all just being conned that we live in a democracy where we get to make a real choice in the HORs.

I remember reading an article from 2006 - I think it was in Time magazine - that predicted some of the GFC a year before it happened. The advance warning signs were there.

honestly he not only sucked in those who ran with him...but a whole heap of voters as well..

and look what we got??>..

even those he signed up couldnt stand him..

as for economists..I dont put any value in them either.. they would need a crystal ball....

A vote for Bill Shorten is the only sensible way. With nothing but nincompoops leading the parties, especially the ALP, Greens and the Coalition, the only realistic way to minimise damage is to cycle through them as quickly as possible.

There is only so much that can be inflicted in three years. Keep tossing them until something decent turns up.

You're right. People ignore warnings because there are so many of them. If economists are to be believed, we've been about to enter a recession for the past 10 years. In all that noise, the one warning that is accurate is a signal that is impossible to discern.

You're right. People ignore warnings because there are so many of them. If economists are to be believed, we've been about to enter a recession for the past 10 years. In all that noise, the one warning that is accurate is a signal that is impossible to discern.

Well - if the LNP get back in they'll say they now have a mandate to shag over the building industries and favour their mates in management by rorting the workers as much as possible.

Look forward to a hive on industrial unrest etc, rising costs due to management interference and troublemaking, and the extension of the 'conscript' mentality among the workers - and no real change in anything much except that a once-willing workforce will become lazy and just fill in time as much as possible instead of being willing participants in their own work.

That's all we need - yet another Star Chamber to take the responsibility away from government while it destroys the Rule of Law.

No wonder that Wee Rat Howard stole all the legally owned firearms.

I note some comments are "a little sceptical and with reason!

It is very unlikely that All incumbents would be voted out, particularly given the decades of being fed on being reliant on the current 2 party system.

That said, if a sufficient portion of incumbents, particularly from the major Party's, were to be sacked, then it would cause a rethink process to start and we desperately need that new start, because the old system is clearly now outdated!

WE NEED TO PUT ON THE PRESSURE, FOR A NEW START, WITH NEW GOALS & THE MAJOR GOALS MUST BE WHAT'S IN THE BEST, LONG TERM INTERESTS OF THE WHOLE POPULATION, NOT WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE FEW, IN THE SHORT TERM!!!
