I came here over 50 years ago and they were saying the reef will be dead in 25 years.....ho hum...they then told us the world will end in 2013 ... so far they have been wrong wrong wrong... but they never admit it...

whatever happened to the crown of thorns that were breeding at a terrific rate and would eat the reef to death.????

Sounds entirely consistent with the 95% bleaching being reported. He is just putting a different spin on it - that "only" 25% will have long term damage.

Thats right it was a fabrication by the conservative commentators.
Because no one actually said that.

What they said was that 95% of the northern reef was bleached.

So all we are arguing about is the extent of the bleaching. This article by the Murdoch press still admits that a quarter of the entire reef has been killed by bleaching. That is still a very serious event no matter what spin they want to put on it.
