the world was covered by water at some stage.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

just sayin.

and some are convinced that the Ark came to rest on Mt Ararat... which is several thousand ft above sea level.

Cods. Do you believe it? The "whole" world has never been covered by water. Yes the Himalayas were once at the bottom of the ocean but that does not mean the world was covered with water.

That Kangaroos, echidnas and platypus swam to the middle east to be rescued then swam back.

Of course people get scared when faced with imminent death and grasp at fairy tales of salvation.  Doesn't make them true.

You know what?

We're fine. We had no damage, no flooding, no power cuts etc ; just a few twigs, branches, leaves etc which I hosed away 1st thing this morning.

IF YOU'RE STUPID ENOUGH TO LIVE TOO CLOSE TO A RIVER OR OCEAN, THEN YOU SHOULD EXPECT PROBLEMS WHEN SEVERE WEATHER HITS.

NO SYMPATHY HERE FOR THOSE WHO'VE LOST THEIR FRONT YARDS UP ON THE NORTHERN BEACHES.

..... OR THOSE WHO GOT FLOODED ALONG THE GEORGES RIVER AND FURTHER DOWN SOUTH.

I MEAN DUH!

Is this another one of those fairies in the sky stories that the religious nuts believe and are always praying about.

Noahs Ark all over again!

Adam and Eve or Adam and Steve in the Greenswine case!  Grin Grin Grin

Edit: Sorry misread this I thought the Greens were predicting it would rain forever!  Grin Grin

Incidentally, all that flooding in suburban areas wasn't the fault of the sustained downpour but was entirely because of inadequate drainage systems and very poor maintenance practices.

Dead animals, branches, discarded plastic bottles, and MacDonald's take-away packaging, etc create blockages and serious narrowing of the underground piping because these are left unattended by council workers until flooding occurs.

I should have posted Really Captain Obvious.

My bad.

Also there are multi factorial reasons for the damage caused to these properties. It's not just poor drainage. Ok?

Now behave.
