We are supposed to be getting heavy rain for a while tomorrow, seeing that the forecasts are rarely wrong these days. After Monday, we should expect the first real cold of winter. Every year, we get showers at the start of winter, and then the cold air starts chilling our bones for the next month or so.

Had a couple of showers today but the rain is starting to be consistent tonight here in Lismore although not heavy yet.

Same here.  Unless all Hell breaks loose tonight/tomorrow........it's a fizzer.  Still, they did say that Saturday was the day.

We will become an island.

I know what you are trying to say, the yuk gives it away but what is a low barometric flooding machine? Huh

Explosive cyclogenesis is seen on average just once per year, but these storms cause significant wind and flood damage when they occur

And Indian women's looks in relations to what sounds like the right weather conditions to cause a cyclonic type storm?

Gordy, I know you do it to piss off Aussie but you should stop because he cannot answer you on an equal footing, you haven't told us of your other half and they should not be brought into a discussion as a weapon against words anyway.

I mentioned it in a general way without knowing his living arrangements, as is my right to have an opinion on such things.

Mr Aussie piped up and took it as a DIRECT insult to his living arrangements, accused me of being a troll from his past and immortalized my comment in his signature.

Had he approached it in a different way I'd have said sorry dude, I'm sure the subject of your particular living arrangements is perfectly lovely, no direct offense intended.

Bit of heavy rain through the night

no strong winds as yet

I think the weather bureau are becoming panic merchants

For we who live in Sydney, it's all bullshit of course.

Sydneysiders know from long experience that any storm worth its salt ALWAYS comes as a surprise to everybody - including the boys down at the Met office.

If they tell you a 'big storm' is on its way - then you can be sure it will be a fizzer.

Guaranteed.

The rest of Australia is praying for a storm that will wipe the east coast clean.

That's not a bad app., Redneck - but I have one that's even more accurate than the professional forecasters.

"What is it?" you ask.

Snails.

Snails climbing up the neighbours' wall.  They know DAYS in advance of the multi-million dollar Met Department that a 'Big Wet' is coming - and they tell you how much to expect by how high they position themselves up the wall.

Never fails.

The snails can feel it in their bones.  Cool
