I've definitely seen the word 'Trattoria' here and there.

After thinking a little more on this, maybe I've been avoiding Italian restaurants because I don't like being made a fuss of by the owner/managers. I've seen footage of Italian restaurants in New York where the owner/managers stroll amongst the 'guests' while singing and chatting and 'carrying on'.

I like to keep a low profile when I'm eating in a restaurant. I'm not looking for hilarity and becoming part of the circus that some of these Italian managers in NY put on.

I'm Anglo-Saxon, with all the traditional reserve and polite decorum of the traditional Englishman. Tongue

usually restaurant owners are very good at picking up on their customers vibe ... Some people like a chat, some don't. A restaurant owner who annoys or ignores his customers doesn't stay in business for very long.
