Incorrect.

If you think otherwise, cite a reference to the relevant legislation that deems them to be "illegal".

If someone enters a country without legal documentation, without going through legal prescribed protocols.
If someone seeks to enter a country without the permission of the government illegally.
They are deemed illegally entering the country and are incarcerated, like the criminals they are.
Just because the government folded to the will of a bunch of no hoper individuals and granted them a visa, it does not negate the fact that they arrived here ILLEGALLY.
THAT MAKES THEM ILLEGALS.

It was stated , through information gained through the freedom of information act, that more than 80% of these illegal boat arrivals have not been employed in Australia since they arrived.
Our welfare system is bogged down with these parasites who milk the system for all its worth, quickly establishing themselves as disabled and getting maximum benefits for nothing.

Many of these ILLEGALS have become involved in illegal practices, following on from what they were doing in their own country.

I have no problem with immigrants, legal immigrants.
Australia would be a much poorer country without the wonderful people from all over the world.
But this influx of ILLEGAL and twisted cult followers has badly affected how we perceive all dark skinned people.
Its a shame because some Muslims are a great asset to our country.

We need to rid ourselves of these ILLEGAL parasites, before we end up like Paris and other parts of Europe.

They are detained for health, security, and identification checks.

Not for any criminal activity.

They break no Australian laws when they enter the country to claim asylum.

Straight from an Australian Government website:

"It is not a crime to enter Australia without authorisation for the purpose of seeking asylum. Asylum seekers do not break any Australian laws simply by arriving on boats or without authorisation."

I don't see scoot apologising anywhere so you are just making up lies...

and he is right..

you are angry and emotional.. (like most of the time)

this is most likely due to your weak drug abuse and the licking of other womans vaginas...

you have "checked out" of the human lifecycle and given in to urgers of self abuse and gratification...

You got your butt handed to you yesterday on this. (again) They are detained for entering the country without valid entry documents or visas. If they were not committing an illegal activity then the government would have no legal right to detain them.. Not hard to understand really, even for a 12 year old. No surprise you still dont get it. I got to give it to you, you like getting your butt kicked. Now post a another picture and pretend you somehow "won" this non arguement again.

Paralyzed by fear. No shame in a 17 year old girl not knowing what to do when preyed upon.

I wish other passengers noticed and dished out some mob justice.

Hence, she should have screamed to alert those around her of an assault taking place.

Then, let me give you a quick lesson in modern law.

The UN Refugee Convention (to which Australia is a signatory) recognises that refugees have a lawful right to enter a country for the purposes of seeking asylum, regardless of how they arrive or whether they hold valid travel or identity documents. The Convention stipulates that what would usually be considered as illegal actions (e.g. entering a country without a visa) should not be treated as illegal if a person is seeking asylum.

Now, let me give you a couple of real life examples.

Case study: murder.

If a man intentionally murder another.
1. Case one:  A man murder another man because he wanted the inheritance.  He is otherwise not suffering from any duress, or mental health illness, or impaired judgement.  In this case, the man will be found guilty of murder.
2. Case two: A man murders another.  But the man is suffering from severe schizophrenia, whose voices told him to commit such crime.   This man will be found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity.

Case study: Parking infringement
1. Case one: a lady parks her car in a no standing zone, because its more convenient for her.  She will be fined for illegal parking.
2. Case two: a lady parks her car in a no standing zone, but she did so, because she felt some chest pain, and had to call the amublance leaving her car behind.  She is techinically parked illegally, but in the eyes of the law, she was not parked illegally or to be fined because of the medical emergency exemption clause.

So, techincally, the boat people entered the country 'illegally'.  But if they are applying for asylum, then under the Australian law, they did not enter the country illegally during their processing.   They will only be found illegal entry IF their processing has failed.

In Australia, we do not practice strict legalism.   Its a combination of legalism, moralism and relativelism.  Thats why our laws are full of exemptions.

Fact: to date, over 80% of the asylum seekers had been found to be genuine refugees.
Fact: ALL of the detainees overseas who enter Australia by boat, who are having their refugee status processed, are not illegals.  They have committed no crime under the Australian law as we know it, and we are locking them up - men women and children.   We are doing so, because, our leaders want to buy votes from people like you.

Think about it.

What a sad thread.

Here we have a pervert, preying on a schoolgirl and what do people do.
Blame the girl,
Defend the man based on the way he has been molded by society.
Even blame the other passengers.

Everyone knows right from wrong, inherently.
He would have known that his actions were wrong.

But we, as a society so in fear of punishing anybody for fear of hurting their feelings, allow this poo to go on.

If it had been my daughter, I would have been riding that train until I found the creep, and after finding him, he would loose the urge to touch a woman again, in fact he wouldn't be capable of ever having children and if he was really lucky he may even walk again one day.

We need more vigilantes.

Grin Grin Grin Grin

This offender was ..

A Third World immigrant and a Darkie .. and quite possibly a Pakistani Muslim.

And what this means is that if the law catches up with him, he has absolutely bugger-all to worry about, any more than the Middle Eastern and sub-continental taxi-drivers in the UK and Australia have anything to worry about when caught molesting women in their immediate vicinity.

And any more than the hundred or so Middle Eastern men who performed 'Taharrush Jamai' in Germany have anything to worry about after having been caught.

Welcome to the liberal-progressive ethos of our times.

Correct!

But then by the same token every claimant who is found not to be a genuine refugee is therefore, ipso facto, an illegal migrant.

Correct?

Claiming 'refugee status' does not in itself automatically confer upon that person the right NOT to be regarded as an illegal immigrant.

Every last one of those people coming across from Indonesia in boats was righfully regarded as 'illegal immigrants' until proved not to be so.

Well, it would be correct in many other countries like North Korea.  But here in Australia, we have this tiny thing in the legal system, and that is:

You are innocent until proven guilty.   Smiley

You are confused because you are posting on emotion, not fact. For an act to be illegal it is not necassary for it to be a criminal act. Hence the fact that those without visas can be legally detained because they have committed an illegal act, albeit with no criminal penalty.

The 17-year-old girl was on her way to school during Wednesday morning's peak when a man, described as wearing sunglasses and possibly a black turtleneck, put his hand under the girl's skirt and allegedly indecently assaulted her.

On reading your brief snippet I thought "I bet he's Indian".  Sure enough...

Quote:
The teenager told police her attacker as being "Indian or Sub-Continental" in appearance

It says:

The teenager told police her attacker as being "Indian or Sub-Continental" in appearance, about 30 years old, 180 centimetres tall, with an average build and short black hair.

No Herb, they all entered illegally. The ones allowed to stay were just conferred refugee status. That doesnt negate the illegality of their entry. There is no criminal penalty under law for entering Australia without a visa, but it is still illegal and thus gives the government the right to detain such persons.
