The problem is the legacy of conquest, genocide, enslavement and exclusion of Aboriginals from society since 1788.

If the settlers had included Aboriginals in their society since 1788 the situation would be much different.

Aboriginals were excluded from voting until 1960s which signified their exclusion from Australian society.

Thanks for the history lesson, so what would you do today, 2016?

Individuals can't, but societies such as closet pom society can make Aboriginals feel inferior by policy by exclusion, oppression, denigration, dispossession and isolation.

We have tried. It has failed.

I was guest lectured (I'm studying cab driving) by an aboriginal chap a few months ago. One of those "invasion day" types.

My answer to him and his ilk is yes, there was an invasion.

You lost. Sorry.

So, you can understand why some don't 'celebrtate' Australia Day, then.

The ones that don't celebrate Australia day are pissed off that they can longer just bash a lubra over the head and rape her when they are feeling a bit horny ... due to whites mans new rules.

Conquests have happened on every Continent, in virtually every Nation at one time or another since stone age.  I have not heard of other vanquished civilizations throwing themselves daily pity parties  do with the Australian Aboriginal Civilization.

The other vanquished peoples must be superior in their generic makeups, & it comes down to the fact (baring any other common shared explanation to the contrary) that a civilization must have to be on the bottom of the world's gene pool, & it's the Aboriginals of Australia that hold that 'wooden spoon' for all human kind.

Either that, or they were born with the most violins.   ...

They attack their own ...

reminds me of a mob in Syria that has Global attention now

Scott Fatnowna the Principle at Aurukum is a blackfella

for him to want to evacuate speaks volumes

some of you city slicker doogooders with the biggest mouths

wouldn't have a clue

and your Captain is LTYC/Svengali or whatever other sock he goes by.

The only thing that could sort this out is to get the kids out of this toxic environment. They NEED another stolen generation.

Any kids with a bit of potential gets sent to boarding schools around the country, fully paid for.

Anyone who's basically fkcued like the ones causing the trouble get cut off the public tit and the fund channeled to the young kids who still have some hope.

Teachers in the Indigenous community of Aurukun in far north Queensland are being evacuated for the second time this month over safety concerns.

Most of the Cape York Academy's 25 staff and teachers had only returned last Thursday but tensions again flared on the weekend.

Principal Scott Fatnowna and his wife were allegedly threatened by three youths carrying machetes and knives on Saturday night when they returned home after visiting colleagues.

The youths, who have been charged, allegedly took the government car for a joyride before it got bogged just out of town.

An idle mind is the devil's playground. Evidently there is no employment or no creative activity available at Aurukun.

Australian governments have created a cultural vacuum.

The view from GordyL's crows nest is impeded by the social horizon and racial horizon.

Either cut them off the dole and have them use their time hunting bush tucker or fully integrate them.

Keeping them between two worlds is obviously not working.
Your suggestion please?

Appoint GordyL as king of the Aboriginals and unite him with his subjects.

See! No answer to the problem.

What problem?

Geeze, Louise, you can't see a problem?

Answer please.

Or shut your trap!

You've never been there or lived that life.

And you have no answer!

I don't mind taxpayers money being spent but not chucking good money after bad.

As I said,  pick the brightest and send them to boarding school to get them away from the toxic environment.  What's your solution, more soapbox proclamations?

I can hear the screams now. "More stolen generations!"

Yet the other option is to leave these kids in already proven dysfunctional and violent societies, with no employment prospects and no chance of escape.

To interfere or not interfere - that is the question.

Outback Aboriginal communities are the pits. There is no hope for these people. There is no chance of employment and they are being paid 'sit-down' money. Whole societies are dysfunctional on a generational level.

Can somebody present a workable solution to this existing problem on a national level?

No takers?

And you bleat about government.

FFS!

Lovely to read you gain Lionel. Hello  Smiley

I think Howard engineered a really good middle ground. Bloody Labor got in and ripped it up - it wasn't perfect, but there was evidence it was working. But I'm sure laugh to you cry will be along in a minute to critique it for us.

I know a guy - and I know this is anecdotal - who is a nurse in his 30s. Really genuine guy. Specialises in tropical medicine and war zones - currently in Yemen I think.

He did a stint on the lands. He came back from that very disillusioned...

they were far better off working on stations and being paid with rations and tobacco.

One of the reasons we have government is to resolve these issues.  They are supposed to be the lifters, not the leaners.

Aboriginals are at Aurukun because there has been a longstanding (since 1788) policy of dispossession and exclusion from white society.

"As ye sow, so shall ye reap."

The principle of exclusion from closet pom society is now a part of Aboriginal culture.
