Labor Split Over State Of Palestine
May 18th, 2016 at 7:45am

Labor is echoing calls for a "two-state solution" in the conflict, but there is plenty of international debate over how that outcome can be achieved after years of frustrated attempts. Sweden, for example, has decided to officially recognise the state of Palestine.

Labor might do the same. While the party wants a negotiated settlement, Labor has warned if there is no progress in the next round of the peace process, "a future Labor government will discuss joining like-minded nations who have already recognised Palestine".

And Mr Feeney questioned the push for a national conference resolution, which will be led by NSW frontbencher Tony Burke after discussions with Mr Shorten, for a future Labor government to recognise Palestine as a state in the absence of progress towards a two-state solution.

Then we have Palestinian haters in the Labor Party

Can we really trust Labor on Palestine?

Does recognising the State of Palestine mean Labor hates Israel .... like some labor supporters have said about others who support the two state solution?

There is no state of Palestine.  There never has been.
There are no Palestinians historically.
What we have is a myth a made up identity and a made up country.
The Mandate of Palestine, that was administered by the British was split up and all the tribes that lived there are still there and the State of Israel was established as a homeland for the Jews.  After all they lived there too.
The Mandate is Now Jordan and Israel.
If Arabs want a homeland its called Jordan and already exists.

Labor calls for recognition of a Palestinian state

NSW Labor's state conference has passed a motion calling for a Labor government to recognise a Palestinian state and deploring the tragic conflict in Gaza and the death of civilians

http://www.smh.com.au/world/labor-calls-for-recognition-of-a-palestinian-state-2...

Labor is planning on one in the future.

Is Labor anti Israel?

I also support a Palestinian state, shock horror?

I also support condemning HAMAS for using human shields, I support the condemnation of just about every Arab state using the Palistinans as a proxy war to annoy Israel so they can fetishise and get their little Muzzie rocks off.

typical regressive left idiot Greens. Recognising the state of Palestine at this time will legitimise a no longer democratically elected government formed of ultra right religious islamist Hamas.  All you will do is continue the conflict in the Middle East as Hamas continues its defense strategy of trying to kill every Jewish person and destroying the Israel state. And all you will do is bring about ultra right wing social policies upon the people of Palestine.

Well done to the idiot regressive left Greens. Not only do you not understand what Nabka represents in the eyes of Palestinean people, but you also don't understand how a policy of 'hugging' Hamas is actually the most dangerous thing you can do.

We have been giving the Palestinians about $1million a week in foreign aid, if we don't recognise Palestine who are we giving this money to?

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Foreign aid is taking money from poor people in wealthy countries and giving it to wealthy people in poor countries.

We should end all foreign aid except in case of disaster relief in emergencies.

in the case of Hamas I have no doubt that money sent for 'aid' ends up being spent on their defensive strategy of shooting rockets into Israel.  Or into implementing a religious state where women can be killed for being raped.

And the Greens support this. Shame on the Greens.
