If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death

Leviticus 19:2
Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

A woman should learn in quietness and full submission

Christian doctrine teaches that women ought to be Godly and modest,       .....as men too ought to be.

Sorry, Y, you missed the bit about the stonings and burnings and beheadings.

You always forget them.

Maybe you should tie a piece of string around your finger or something, mm?

It's strange that he would want to avoid it mmm

It is strange. Y, by his own admission, is an "Old Testament" Christian - a "karmic" Christian - and by this he means he believes in an eye for an eye.

The prophet Yeheshua, peace be upon Him,  taught that the most important law is to love one another.

Y forgets this bit too.

Yes,        .....thank you Karnal,        .....for giving us your interpretation of my beliefs, my thought processes, and my worldview.

....for blandly misrepresenting my person.

p.s.
Yehshua taught that the most important law, is to love God.

Matthew 22:36
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38  This is the first and great commandment.
39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

And that is exactly how moslems worship too.     !!!!!        Tongue

Moslems love their God,          .....and then moslems promote the murder of persons [their neighbours] who reject their God.

.......exactly as ISLAM tells them to do.

.

Deuteronomy 6:5
......thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

All religious texts were written in ancient times where most men and women did not know how to read or write.

Of course they would seem outdated or misogynistic, they were written hundreds and hundreds of years ago.

That is why they should be reflected on rather than taken verbatim.

The biggest problem isn't what the scripture says, but the people who say each word must be followed to the letter.

The messages that have survived and are still relevant are the ones we seek to find through study of the texts.

Myself, i think that all people should try to read all of the Bible [O.T. and N.T.], at least once.

And then, if necessary, give their opinion about the reverence of its contents.

The book of Psalms and the book of Proverbs, would be a good place to start.

Psalms 25:8
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9  The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10  All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11  For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12  What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Proverbs 3:6
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The bible (and other ancient religious texts) is a terrible read. They jump all over the place, wander off into irrelevancies, and are obviously, and needlessly self contradictory. It's like trying to read a book written by committee Roll Eyes

And he did so to distance himself from Christians who bang on about "love thy neighbour" and "judge not lest ye shall surely be judged". Y's posts are all about judgment. And you, G, have no right to pass judgement. Every Moslem is a latent homicidal maniac. Every Moslem is an inveterate liar.

Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, IE. the new testament. You might like to limit your Christian rants to that.
Also look up what a testament is and covenant. You may learn a thing or two.

You laugh at moslems being latent homicidal maniacs and liars yet that IS exactly what the Quran teaches each one to be with non believers. Christians are not taught to do that unless you can show me where Jesus taught it. You see this is why your type always run to the old testament. Jesus Christs teachings make mohammed and islam's teaching utter lunacy compared to Christianity.

You take that back. Y is free to run wherever he chooses.

Y's eccentric. He's a Karmic Khristian.

I do hope you're not defending that type. Matty is always careful to disclose his self-proclaimed atheism - unless you've decided to become a Christian in your campaign against the Muselman?

Good idea, Matty. That could work.

QUESTION;

Who or what, is a moslem ???

A moslem is a follower of ISLAM.       < -------- dictionary definition.

And mainstream ISLAM is a philosophy which [within its doctrines, and tenets, and laws] teaches every moslem,        .....that a moslem who murders an enemy of Allah, is a good and virtuous person.

But, what or who, is 'an enemy of Allah' ???

ISLAM [in the Koran] defines anyone who is a disbeliever, as an enemy of Allah!

Seriously,
          ......is it any wonder that so many 'nice' people, suddenly buy an airline ticket for Turkey [i.e. Syria], or walk into a cafe in Martin Place, Sydney, or go to the local mosque to obtain a pistol,               .....and then turn into homicidal maniacs ?

No,    ....it isn't.

Because;

Every moslem, is a moslem.

EXAMPLE #2;

Muslim cleric: Those who don't respect Muslims have "no right to live"

paraphrasing this moslem cleric, in Norway;

'We [the local ummah, i.e. moslems in Norway] must kill those who don't respect moslems/ISLAM.

The moslems [in Norway] who would do this are innocent.'

Ashley,

Thank you for your contribution.

But please remember that Jesus was a Torah observant Jewish man.

When anyone reads the New Testament, they can find examples of Jesus encouraging Jewish people [including his disciples] to obey God's [i.e. Moses] law.

Ashley,

What do you think that Jesus 'intended', when he, Jesus, spoke thus ?? ;

Matthew 15:3
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4  For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5  But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6  And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Matthew 12:46
While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
47  Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48  But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49  And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50  For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

An.enigmatic quote, Y. I sincerely have no idea what Jesus means by this. I’ve read it, pondered it, re-read it and pondered it again. Who knows? I might need to ponder it some more.

But I’m.curious. Can you say what you think it means? I’d really like to know.
