I really miss this one - it was a 1975 ZG Fairlane 500 with a 351 Cleveland and all the options.
Was wandering around Cairns in 1997 while on holiday, and spotted it in a car-yard. Upon inspection, it
proved to be a one-owner car in very good condition with all documentation and paperwork. It came with
a complete list of everything that had ever been replaced, and the mileages these occurred.
It had belonged to a bloke who bought it new in Victoria with his retirement-package, then he and his wife
had done the 'grey nomad' bit then settled in cairns. She'd passed on, and eventually they took his licence
due to age, hence the car being on the market.
The dealer allowed us to leave our car (an XE Falcon) at the dealership, and take the Fairy overnight for
a test-drive. And yes, it drove as good as it looked.
Can't remember now whether we paid $2500 or $3500 for it, but we bought it. Paid cash, and had it
shipped home on a car-carrier, it arrived about 10 days later.
Had it for around 18 months then, as is often the case when you have young kids, needed money so sold
it, and have regretted doing so ever since.
Sadly, I have no pics, they went astray in a house-move, but it was IDENTICAL to the one shown, same
colour paint and vinyl roof, but with a sun-roof. And it had twin driving-lights and 'foggies'.
One car I REALLY wish I'd hung onto.
