Ok feel free either of you to explain to me what *IS* the issue, if its not a group of people being denied their basic human rights (ie citizenship)

Citizenship is not a 'basic human right' when in another man's country, and it only needs that these Rohingya immigrants return to Bangladesh from whence they had come - for this hostility to be settled.

"Myanmar’s government claims that the Rohingya are not eligible for citizenship under the country’s military-drafted 1982 Citizenship Law. That document defines full citizens as members of ethnic groups that had permanently settled within the boundaries of modern-day Myanmar prior to 1823, the year before the first Anglo-Burman War. The government of General Ne Win drew up a list of the 135 ethnic groups that supposedly meet this requirement. That list is still in use by Myanmar’s current civilian government.

The British colonial government encouraged immigration to Myanmar from modern-day India and Bangladesh. This is a source of continued resentment within Myanmar, which is why 1823 was used as a cut-off for citizenship. The dominant narrative within the country is that the term “Rohingya” is a recent invention, and those who claim to belong to the group are actually the descendants of these colonial-era immigrants from Bangladesh".

Good idea Herb - and many Rohingya themselves want to do that.

Trouble is:
a) The Burmese government have banned the Rohingya from travelling
b) The ones who do manage to escape are not welcomed by Bangladesh and forced to languish in refugee camps.

The sad, sad story, of the stateless Rohingya moslems.

......who simply want to rape and murder Buddhists in Myanmar,     .....for Allah.

Google
saudi arabia gives billions, for foreign mosques, schools

$$ billions !!!!

gandalf,

How many refugee centres are there in the rich Gulf States,          ....to help their poor and stateless moslem brothers and sisters - e.g. LIKE THEIR ROHINGYA MOSLEM BROTHERS AND SISTERS ?

Perhaps it is the case, that there is just insufficient room in the land mass of Saudi Arabia to accommodate communities of moslem refugees from around the world ???

No excuses, gandalf.

It's just another case of immigrant Muslim minorities being a pain in the arse to the locals.

It's happening all over the world.

The Uighur in China - yet another bunch of poo-stirrers agitating for THIS and agitating for THAT and ... it's the same old story of Muslim minorities choosing to colonise instead of assimilate.

We even saw this with the Muslims in the video clips from the American universities.

If Muslim Bangladesh doesn't 'welcome' Muslim Rohingya to infiltrate back into their Muslim society, then why the hell should the Burmese and Suu Kyi be thrilled to have them in their country as a permanent burr under the national saddle?

Remember how the Muslim Malays went on a genocidal rampage killing everyone of Chinese background?

People don't like sizeable ethnic and religious minorities in their generational historic homelands.

Again - Fiji - where there was a push to drive the Indians out.

Russia - where Muslim immigrants from the south are being murdered in the streets by resentful locals.

The trouble is Islam period. A made up story about a made up god by a governing body to permeate every waking second of a persons life with promises of eternal carnal pleasures. Chuck in a terrorists handbook of instruction viola. What a pathetic joke. It was perfectly normal back in the dark ages where most were less educated but today it only attracts the low of intellect and willing to do whatever they are told by others low in intellect. Yet their so called god is still non existent.

There is only one thing worse than a psychopath. That's a psychopath that is intellectually impaired as all muslims are and think they are doing gods will. I mean lets face it there is no such thing as a moderate muslim. They all think a terrorists hand book is the work of a god  LOL.

It is a real shame muslims just can't leave other people alone to live in peace. Hey if you want to subscribe to an intellectually backward religion by all means. Society tolerates people that think they were born gay, transgender and every other more on, on the planet. I think muslims know they are a big joke and want to force people to pay them kudos. Hence all their angst at seeing other being happy without their nutter religious nonsense.

And speaking of 'Malays' .... dear o dear o dear ...

link

No wonder our jails are bulging with an 'over-representation' of Muslim 'Australians'.

"So much money was pouring so rapidly into the Malaysian Prime Minister's personal bank accounts that it rang internal money-laundering alarms inside AmBank, a major Malaysian institution part-owned by Australia's ANZ.
Key points:

PM's personal account held under codename 'Mr X'
Account received more than $US1 billion in two years
Millions of dollars spent on luxury hotels, cars and jewellery

Hundreds of millions of dollars were being wired into Najib Razak's accounts from the Saudi Arabian Government, a mysterious Saudi prince and two shadowy British Virgin Island companies, while the head of a Malaysian state-owned company topped up the Prime Minister's credit card accounts with millions of Malaysian ringgit in cash".
