What was his mandate?

A "Mandate" applies to a specific policy that has been campaigned on sidelining all others.

So what was it bro?

Quote:
mandate

ˈmandeɪt/
1.
an official order or commission to do something.
"a mandate to seek the release of political prisoners"
synonyms:      instruction, directive, direction, decree, command, order, injunction, edict, charge, commission, bidding, warrant, ruling, ordinance, law, statute, fiat; More
2.
the authority to carry out a policy, regarded as given by the electorate to a party or candidate that wins an election.
"he called an election to seek a mandate for his policies"
synonyms:      authority, approval, acceptance, ratification, endorsement; More
verb
manˈdeɪt/
1.
give (someone) authority to act in a certain way.
"the rightful king was mandated and sanctioned by God"
2.

(of territory) be assigned to (another power) under a mandate of the League of Nations.
"mandated territories"

but when a labor govt has legislation rejected, you all cry 'mandate'

it is like hypocrisy-central in here.

No much of it was knocked back , its called negotiating , unlike the Libs who Ms Lambie said their policy has more holes in it than a target at a shooting range  Grin , oh we know Ms Lambie , we certainly do.

Lambie is a disgraced ex-soldier with a drug and alcohol problem and a level of education of middle high school.

not exactly worthy or your love and attention. but she agrees with you and that is the entirety of your thinking on that or any other matter.

Mandate has become a difficult topic for me as it seems to conflict on so many levels.

If you accept that there is a mandate I would think that it applies to the major ticket items, I doubt anyone specifically voted for the coalition because of this policy. I don't think you can determine that all the bits and pieces wrapped up in policy fine print is mandated.

Then you have the situation where Labor and virtually all its supporters would have voted strongly against this policy, it is very much hated by thinking people or anyone who believes in any level of fairness or a sense of what is reasonable.

Thirdly you have the senate bound to reject poor policy and this definitely qualifies.

Ask the question does a policy mandate supposedly outweigh the senates responsibility to function as it is meant to ?

This governments problem with the senate stems largely with its propensity to produce poor policy. They by and large left the senate with no other option.

It is a fact that the ABCC produced no benefit while presiding over a drastically reduced health and safety record in the building industry, people died because of it.

Make no mistake this isn't bad policy it is atrocious policy that well and truly deserves to be blocked.

that is complete BS.  no one died because of the ABCC.

as for your belief on mandates it really amounts to one thing only.  You want your own way all the time, no matter what. you are a child throwing a tantrum, nothing else.

He didn't have a mandate, bro.

Labor suffers its worst ever electoral defeat and he doesn't have a mandate? You're delusional.

The moral law is never with the libs: ever!

Don't you get it yet bro? WE ALL KNOW YOU DON'T CARE WHO DIED FOR THIS COUNTRY AND IT'S WHY YOU CAN'T SEE THE COPPER INTERNET BEING YOUR EPITAH!
