the working person has done badly in the last decade in the US.

[/quote]

The last DECADE?  Get real... the working man has been pood upon by past govts in the US going back generations before that.
The only thing that has helped them is unionisation. And that has always been beaten down, just like here in Oz. '

The capitalists rule in the US. That is the structure, the raison d' etre and the excuse for all manner of heinous actions..

Money is the solution and the answer to all problems. If you have it   YAY... if you don't.. work for next to nothing.

I see nothing new in this election.. least of all The Creep,  who has no claim regarding equity for the
working folk, whatever his lying mouth might spew out.

Believe him at your peril Blue collar workers and laborers in the US. He is just another autocrat and capitalist who gets money from sweating the poor.

We do?
Only if you agree the Creep isn't going to do any more for the working class than Clinton.
Indeed he can only worsen the current state of the US. That won't help the working class.

Seems they are in a no-win situation.

I can't see anything GOOD coming out of this election. Their society is in crisis, and voting for the Creep will only bring on their destruction sooner rather than later. It is just the way it is, and the mechanisms of their state will play out to their end.
We will watch it happen, and get dragged in to the demise of a once great nation. Sad

under obama and the previous 3 or 4 presidents the US has floundered.
they have been 'politicians'.
they have said what people wanted to hear and taken short term decisions.

Same as we have had in auss and they have had in europe recently

hillary offers more of the same.

I agree with that.

The Creep offers worse.
He says OBAMA founded IS.. nope it was the two BUSH admins that did that by creating bogus wars and targeting political regimes through lies. They reap what hey sowed.

No-one else is really responsible. The US created it and the world pays.

Trump has made money.
He is a billionaire.

If he can do it for himself, he is capable of doing it for the US.

No that is unrealistic.

No-one can turn it around. We will see the decline and fall of the US into more anarchy and chaos.
I don't think any amount of money , or one individual, can change that.

The Creep is not the Saviour. More likely he represents the Anti-Christ.

yes you are correct. Hey I'm not religious, the words just seem appropriate.

I would really like to find a positive somewhere in this US election campaign, but I just can't see one. Not for the US, and long term, for her allies.  And look at Europe.

The forces in place are not subject to an individual, or a country.  It is a replaying of the human condition down through the ages. Much as we as individuals like to think that power and money (mana) will save the day, we ignore the lessons of history. Seems we are to repeat, over and over, the follies of our past.  It might as well be Ancient Rome we are discussing.

I am glad I have no children, or grandchildren, as I see no future for the young we raise, but more conflict and disaster.  Sad

I like to be positive, but in this reality, I live each day and enjoy what it brings.
My thoughts for the future?  I think we have the potential to be better than we are,, but.....we haven't learned from the past, and we will continue as we always have.

Hi Emma,

I would imagine large corporations have often donated to the candidate that will reward them the most.

the funds have done well off the clintons and obama. Very well indeed. All at the expense of the worker

the working person has done badly in the last decade in the US.

It's what they call "Pay for Access/Pay for Favor".

Typically large corporations who want access/favor will make huge contribution payments to the campaign....sometimes the same corporation will 'hedge their bets' by contributing large sums to both major candidates. Hillary has taken such money (all candidates must report size & from whom they receive large donations from), whereas Trump has not taken large donations. Once reported by the various candidates, & the authorities watch them like a hawk, it becomes part of the Public Record.

JFYI......Candidates are absolutely forbidden, by law, to take any donations from Foreign Countries or individuals......Full Stop.

You or I couldn't legally contribute to a U.S. Presidential Candidate.

The authorities aren't too concerned about small individual contributions....but larger contributions are heavily scrutinized.

It's been reported that Hillary's Clinton Foundation is being looked into by authorities because of multiple  accusations that foreign Middle Eastern & Russian (amongst many others) monies donated into the Foundation for humanitarian causes & purposes are being funneled into her campaign fund illegally. They're talking about tens of millions.

I would say... that is what we call Capitalism.

I believe in America they want to ban most of these large corporate donations, & make all elections publicly funded. Another assault on the "Freedom of Speech" in America IMHO.....

Eliminate 90+% of unnecessary social spending.....make the people....all the people....pay their own way by making every able bodied person work for every public penny they consume, with anyone claiming disability to get out of work have to prove their disability every 3 months, & only help the desperate ones that absolutely can't survive without some temporary assistance. All assistance should be temporary. You'll see those numbers drop like a rock!

The same should be true here too......the day of the "free ride" should come to an abrupt end.

Putin turned Russia around.
It can be done and really it is not that hard.
It needs people to make the tough decisions.
That is all.

I don't think Hillary can/will make those decisions.
