Great. Another hippie chimes in. I don't wear trendy/profundity t-shirt slogans nor do I see socialism as a passing fad.

It's no surprise that many of you white aging hippies support a buffoon like Trump. If you want to have a serious discussion about socialism, fine but enough with your inane-bourgeois pseudo-left cliches that I have mentioned time and time again have absolutely nothing to say to or is about the working class.

Socialism doesn't work, hasn't worked wherever it has been tried and is a philosophy that is doomed for failure time and time again.

My sole point of agreement with you is that Donald Trump is a dangerous buffoon and a loose cannon.

My sole point of agreement with Donald Trump is that socialism has never worked anywhere.

If you like socialism so much, why not visit North Korea.

Grin Grin Grin

I hear the weather's nice in Pyongyang this time of year ...

HEY! If it's good enough for Dennis Rodman to cozy-up to Kim Jong-un - then why not Marla?

"Oh, but it's not REAL Socialism, you hippity-hoppity douche-bag!"

But it never is the 'real thing'. Hell will freeze over first.

It's time to listen to Kenny Rogers, Ms Marla.

Switch socialism for capitalism and you may have an argument.

For the last god damn time: despotism is not socialism. You have zero idea what a political ideology is yet you keep babbling on and on that you do.

John! John! take a deep breath. Remember your measured and thoughtful posts of the past.

These gross generalizations are not like you. The best societies and their governments are a blend of the free market economy and some socialist policies. One or the other is unlikely to succeed for several reasons. But if you think that socialist policies can be just abandoned in favour of pure capitalism, I'd like to see someone try it. The old days of people just eating dirt because they have no nasty business acumen are over.

As for Trump, you think he is more dangerous than Dubbya? Who by the way, got 5000 Americans killed and 30,000 injured in Iraq. How about a group of presidents who got 50,000 Americans killed in Vietnam? And Trump's the big bad guy?

Yep, that's right. He wants America to withdraw into itself as much as possible.

You're not going to kill many people doing that.

Marxism then. Just don't say that it's failed socialism. "Successful socialism" is an oxymoron.

"Successful Socialist States - A History"  is either a very small book, or it has the subtitle - "and unicorns I have known".

That's not socialism. A capitalist state needs to have safeguards for the environment and safeguards for the old and infirm.

I haven't heard anything consistent from Trump to date. He seems to "wing it" a lot. I'm not surprised that the GOP's "Stop Trump" movement has got to the stage of letting Hillary win if necessary to stop Trump.

America needs a Tiger in its Tank - and Trump is it.

America needs commonsense and a fresh approach to the various issues - not the same tired old 'Presidential advisors' goading the incumbent in the Oval Office to make the same tired old mistakes as the previous presidents have done.

Trump could prove to be just the 'fresh broom' that the US needs at this time of stagnation in domestic and overseas policy.

You will incur the wrath of that Emma Peel who is here to Avenge those who stand up for Trump's right to insult & bully his way to the White House.

he could build a wall all round the place.....I remember Muhammad Ali saying they should give over one State to all black people.. so how about a State given over to all those who think they are entitled to walk into anyones country and be taken care of.....then he could build a wall all round them...and leave them too it..

From my experience, most conservatives have a very poor understanding of socialism.

Moreover, they struggle to understand how it differs from communism.

Time to push them back down where they belong.

If you and Marla are anything to go by, progressives have an even more scant understanding of socialism. Neither of you have ever said what it is about socialism that you like. That would require you to actually articulate something.  But you'd rather die than do that.

It's best and safest for you to post gifs and respond to redacted posts with tangential one liners.
