I really hate parties that play on people fears....

we have a couple of weeks of high temps and out come the PANIC MERCHANTS..

when I first came here it was nothing for everyone to be melting right through Feb....I remember the beach being so hot your couldnt walk on it the beach was empty....if it wasnt for the southerlies of a late afternoon you couldnt have lived on the coast...the heat plus humidity plus not everything was aircond like it is today..

toughen up... bunch of wimps and whingers..

You are aware that when the government collapses so does the nanny state and all those laws that keep you safe.

So you expect, as you do of a police force as current, an omnipresent military presence that will protect all?  A Digger on every corner?  They may be able to largely protect the major population centres, but they do not have the manpower to handle the whole thing.... and the countryside will be beset by marauding bands of  Saxons armed gangs of all kinds, initially of the current major criminal sets in our society (The Usual Suspects) who happen to control all the illegal firearms etc (thanks to Wee Johnnie The Last), who will take what they want and kill those who resist, keeping the attractive women who will remain under sway until no longer required, then be cast out into the Winter winds, heavy with child and with no home or hope.

Christ, Lad - even the rather dark 'Hunger Games' was relatively civilised and missed the point.. amazingly offering us the scenario that an effete, wimpy, milque-toast central government could control the Outlanders by fear, and there were no marauding armed bands etc that preyed on both, even though the 'districts' had virtually no police or military of the central government.  Purest fiction.

Collapse will be a process.
There are already government / military plans for a collapse.

Alongside, we can expect localised events like nuke attacks across the globe, undermining us via a nuclear winter event.

Your gun ain't going to be much use !


Seems a smarter path is hard action of reducing the risk of climate collapse and so a collapse of our civilisation.

That's why we have all those Asians living in barracks containers and fed on rice.. sweet meat and good eating those little rice fed nice people..... as a Maori once said to me about a Japanese resort on their North Island.
