Really?

So why is it that when business is booming, wages grow, unemployment declines, tax revenues that pay for the pensioners, public services and the down trodden ones, go up?

Huh

you can thank the unions for that one

Wages grew because the bosses out of the genorosity of their hearts thought they would reward their workers

Wages grow because the demand for labour increases.  Higher demand and a reducing supply of labour pushes up the price of labour (wages).

Just ask yourself "are things better for individuals during economic booms or economic depressions".

Then try and deny 'trickle down'  Huh

Ive noticed things are a lot better when the Libs are in opposition  Cheesy

You do it. Why can't others?

mariacostel wrote on Mar 8th, 2016 at 11:52am:
how about you make the claim that the average worker is WORSE OFF in the 30 years since that statement. Then WE can laugh at you as per the photo.

Casualisation of the Australian workforce is rising, permanent full-time jobs are getting scarce. Millions of Australians don't have work that's stable enough to get a bank loan, far more than 30 years ago, both in absolute numbers and as a percentage of the work force.

Trickle down is a MYTH.

How about you quote ACTUAL FIGURES, because unemployment is far lower than back in the 70s and house ownership is still the highest in the world. Permanent jobs getting scarce? WHAT RUBBISH! The 'job for life' has certainly gone, but thats no loss to a worker with any skills.

I do love the silly statement that less people are getting bank loans now IN ABSOLUTE NUMBERS than 30 years ago.

You are your own worst enemy with foolishness like that.

Why should I waste my time pandering to you when you never, ever provide links to support your own figures, which more often than not turn out to be made-up nonsense?

What happened to the wealth divide during the mining boom? It GREW. So much for that. Where did this supposed wealth go? Here's a clue.

http://cdn.themetapicture.com/pic/images/2014/10/22/funny-glass-wine-trickle-dow...

You can try to prove that trickle down works, but you would be lying if you did. Because you can't make any credible argument, you don't bother. That's why you spend all your time sniping at others and behaving like a bridge full of trolls with machine guns.

And if you want "actual figures", you need to go and spend about three weeks replying to a couple of thousand requests for you to provide your own figures in hundreds of threads going back several years. You've got a lot of work to do, so get busy. Chop chop!!

Love your surrender. How stupid were you to claim there are less successful bank loans now than 40 years ago when we are in the tail end of a building boom.

You are just beyond stupid sometimes and don't take kindly to an intelligent person criticising your transparent idiocy.

Not saying that Unions didn't have an influence in social welfare Smithmiester....but the majority of money is generated by Business and when they are doing well more of it trickles down

You DO realise “Trickle down” refers to something else entirely, Swag? I never had a high opinion of your intelligence or knowledge but here you are hopelessly wrong. I suggest you grab a Kit Kat and do some reading because you are coming across as a Village Id iot.

I think it is you who has no idea of 'trickle down'. But that is consistent with your apparent ignorance on most topics.

Any poles pulled out of the ground by thick cables yet? Not seen any reports of that OR overheating cabinets either.

I did read it and a lot of the contributors at Whirlpool are very knowledgeable and work in this field.

Next summer with more nodes and more subscribers per node (assuming Malcolm doesn’t get a rush of common sense to the head) there will be many nodes shut down or operate at minimum level in the heat. Larger cabinets would have been better.

I did read of cabinets failing and the various techs I talked to all said the heat exchanger can only cope up to a certain temperature.

Will not affect me, I have no intention of subscribing to FTTN.

You presume you will get a choice. You won't.

And Longy is wrong again! Choices are:

1. Have no internet. Not a good choice but a choice

2. Use mobile broadband

3. Resign myself to a crap service on FTTN, especially in summer and after rain.

You should try thinking more and posting less Longy!

Trickle down refers to something else entirely. To do with Supply Side economics and other silly stuff. Reagan believed in it. Now go do that reading.

I would suggest Longy also do reading but he doesn’t do that. He specialises in fantasy and abuse.

Oh well, if you want to go around making yourself an object of fun go ahead.

But if you don’t want to displace ArmPit as the Forum Fool Google:

Supply side economics
Reaganomics
Trickledown

the majority of the money is spent helping those businesses. It's spent providing the infrastructure that they use. Do toyota (for one example) pay NSW govt. for all the wear and tear caused by shipping the cars up Mt Ouslley Road? Did Toyota build the port? What about the rail lines? then when it's time for toyota to pay taxes, you complain they pay to much tax:D Cheesy Cheesy

The case against? Easy:

1. USA $17Trn in debt, Aust working hard on its first $1Trn

2. The middleclass in the USA has been destroyed, same is happening here.

Do you even have an inkling of a clue as to what “trickle down” means yet?
