John - that car has my vote.
The colour just works, it's the complete package.

It didn't start off that colour ... I think it was an orangy type when I first bought it. Then a friend who used to build / paint trucks offered to respray it for me after I did some body work on it. For $50, I wasn't going to worry about the colour. It was whatever his boss had around the workshop. When he first started spraying I remember thinking 'what the farrrk' ... but by the time he finished I liked it.

Is it an Escort?

he promised us as kids he would match whatever we saved and let us pick our cars. My brother saved nothing, the old man gave him $2500 towards his first car. I saved up $2000k, my old man gave me $500 ... then told me I had to pick the panel van if I wanted the $500 because he needed it for his tools.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

talk about jibbed.

At the time I wanted a VB commodore or a torana

actually, I wasn't that fussy ... plus at 17, I didn't know that much about them (still don't). I just knew I liked the look of the Torana's.

I owned a Torana for about two weeks, when I was 17.

I think it was called a 'G-Pack'  (???)

Lent it to a mate to drive down south, and he wrote it off.

EDIT: Yes, it was a 'G-Pack'.

It was identical to this one (same colour, everything):

Not one P76 has been mentioned.

The younger ones will not even know what one is.

In Perth, many of our taxis were P76s (back in the day).
