The only (sort of) grunt car I ever drove was my Old Man's Valiant Charger in about 1966.

I did later have a Mazda RX7 as a chick magnet.

1971 was the year they came out in Oz,,, unless you were in the US 1964

It didn't start off that colour ... I think it was an orangy type when I first bought it. Then a friend who used to build / paint trucks offered to respray it for me after I did some body work on it. For $50, I wasn't going to worry about the colour. It was whatever his boss had around the workshop. When he first started spraying I remember thinking 'what the farrrk' ... but by the time he finished I liked it.
