a knob end with big balls. I think this is what irritates the feminine posters here, his masculinity. Thats not in vogue anymore.

A rather creative interpretation. I suppose if it helps you imagine the balls of TOnes as being on the large side, goooo for it.

I still think he was just a dickhead with no impulse control.
He had the guts to make unpopular decisions and faced off Indonesia over the people smuggling issue.

Like i said. No impulse control.
what you mean is little consideration for the femonazi and beta male vote. I agree.

No. That's not what i mean. I mean no impulse control. That's why he lost his position.

Simply couldn't manage himself.
Nah, he lost his position because he wouldnt sack Peta Credlin. I even predicted it, right here on this forum. You wouldnt understand alien concepts like loyalty.

He lost his position because he lied about every major policy area that counts. He could no longer be trusted by Australian voters. He burnt all his political capital defending the indefensible, and he backflipped on it all in the end anyway.

Balls? About what? He changed his mind on everything. In two years he went from a reformist prime minister making the tough decisions to the workers’ best friend buying their votes. The age of entitlement came back. The budget emergency faded into obscutity. In the end, the electorate no longer listened to him. They trusted him less. His slogans became jokes. The speedos symbolised all this - they highlighted his nakedness. The emperor was wearing no clothes, and this finally caught on.

Under-promise and over-deliver. Thank heavens the grown-ups are back in charge.
rubbish

Reads as pretty spot on to me.

Karnal left off the bit about impulse control though. I'd like to ass that.

I do miss him, you know.

Yes very sad. It is a shame that they didn't give him a few terms in order to start his novel good government approach.

The only pictures I saw of him in speedos is when he was engaged in some form of exercise, my understanding he is a triathlete, quite a legitimate reason to be wearing speedos.

I cannot think of a legitimate excuse to participate in these events at taxpayers' expense. He did this, several times.

Yet more double standards?

https://mobile.twitter.com/workmanalice/status/643397064777334788

It seems that Abbott isn't the only Liberal leader to like budgy smugglers, but is the only one to be criticised for it.

What a load of crap....I am sure you could find an article in the Australian praising Abbott or some rubbish on Facebook ridiculing Turnbull, no one is beyond criticism but this comparison is bullshit....Abbott is criticised because he was unable to Govern but most of all lied to the public and then tried to deny it!!!

Huh Huh Huh

Same thing I said to dna. Did you even both reading?

Deflection over a non issue IMO!!!

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

After all, one knows one's weak points so well, that it's rather bewildering to have the critics overlook them and invent others.
Edith Wharton (1862 - 1937)

How is it a deflection when it is the topic of this thread?

Also, it is not the speedos themselves, it is the double standard.

Turnbull gets plenty of criticism. The issue you see may be just that he is playing small target leadership, as long as he does nothing there is little to be critical about.

While this is far from good government it has worked for him to a point.

It is the old idiom that you can do nothing and leave some doubt or do something and prove that you really are a fool.

Why do you think they are seriously looking at a DD before they produce another budget. Fairly obvious that producing a fair acceptable budget is beyond their capability.

Turnbull clearly would like to go to an election without doing anything.

Did you even bother reading what I wrote? It is just about them both wearing speedos but only Abbott being criticised.

I was looking for a deeper meaning ?

Or

No I never read you posts ?

Take your pick.

Maybe I just commented on the topic ?

Truth is that where Abbott made budgies his life style and used them in politically staged photo opps I still have not seen Mal wearing them. (and don't want to).

There is no deeper meaning. Abbott wore speedos and gets ridiculed. Turnbull does and nothing is said.

Smarmy bastard.

I know what Turnbull is. He's lawyer/accountant/manager. Honestly conservative.

Abbott is a wannabe at the pub, pissing in people's pockets.

So in other words you're full of crap.

If it makes you feel better, sure.

But I've watched him operate. The guy is a jackass, who will do anything, if he thinks it will sell. And, unfortunately for him, he has no idea what real people think.

Budgie smugglers arn't cool, unless you're a workout freak.

Eating raw onions, without even bothering to peel them, is idiotic... a second bite indicates that you have a serious problem with admitting when you make an unwise decision.

The guy has no idea about real people. May as well install Credlin as PM.

Think what you want, but at least he does a lot for charity unlike other politicians.

Sure, eating an onion may be weird but what about eating your own ear wax?

And speedos aren't 'cool'? Why?

Exactly Matty, you and Alan Jones think Mr Rabbitt looks " cool" in speedos, well in Alans case he thinks he looks a bit of a dish.
I think Mr Rabbitts problem is he wears red speedos, Mr Turnbull is too butch to wear red.

Didn't you look at the first post, skip? He is wearing red speedos.

And yes, Abbott looks great in them for a man his age.
