I said "We have countries as well as numerous states in the USA where prohibited drugs here are legal"
Sprint has pointed to at least two countries and I have provided evidence of the numerous states if you're too  f.... daft to comprehend that get a five year old to explain it to you. Don't bother trolling me again I don't bother repeating my answers to those of a lesser intelligence.

The funniest thing of all is that the drug dealers agree with Armchair and co in that drugs should remain illegal  Grin

I'm always suspicious of people that are so adamant prohibition is a good idea.

Hi Aussie - from memory, The Netherlands has decriminilised heroin.
Portugal has decriminilised almost all drugs.

I could well be wrong. But take it as a starting point.

In holland, the 'appeal' of smack has reduced, new addiction rates are almost 0.
Old addict are given free smack by the govt. So they no longer commit crimes to fund their addiction.
Many of them are now bored with their lives as there is 'nothing to do.'

In Portugal, drug usage is dropping. Harm is reduced.
Courts are not jammed with pot smokers and the like.
It's better for society overall. It's not a complete success in every aspect, but it is an improvement.
Drugs are still restricted and allowable quantities are limited to a few days supply.
Again, I could be wrong, but take it as a starting point.

Yes, lawyers, and judges want to continue to prosecute and make their lucrative wages for easy work.

My googling does not confirm your assertions.  Apparently, in Holland, possession of heroin has been made legal in very limited circumstances.

Drug addicts also have underlying self destructive psychological issues, if we can reroute them to a medical specialist instead of a drug dealer to get their fix these issues can be tackled.
Currently the bikies do not provide counselling services to addicts, they do however try to push more drugs on to the user and get the user to push more drugs onto others thereby creating even more addicts.

In holland ..........

Quote:
..........In practice, this means that addicts are allowed to inject or smoke heroin three times a day in a solemn, no frills room in a building run by municipal health services.

Combined with a specified care program, it has been responsible for almost the complete disappearance of heroin addicts from public view.

In the United States, heroin is on the rise like it's 1983, while an ever-shrinking group of Dutch addicts is only getting smaller and older.

In a 2002 study, there were an estimated 25,000 addicts in the Netherlands (out of a population of more than 10 million), but only about 2,000 were considered hardcore addicts, according to the Central Committee on the Treatment of Heroin Addicts.

Heroin use under the age of 40 is practically non-existent, according to Amsterdam's health services........

..............Criminal behavior among the group has plunged since the start of the program......

...........Crime has plunged in neighborhoods where heroin use was endemic. Users have less trouble with the law, and their lives have stabilized and improved. ...........

Also often your friendly neighbourhood drug dealer does not have your drug of choice. If your drug of choice is just weed and your supplier has none but they do have speed or ice it's all too easy to move onto new drugs.
Removing the criminal aspect will also reduce the people that try new drugs.

Neither Portugal nor Holland have legalised drugs.  They are put in place controls which appear to be working for the addicts, at least to the extent, they are no longer seen on streets.

Isn't weed a drug? I agree it shouldn't be but under Australian law it is. It's also perfectly legal in numerous states of the good old USA.
