Climate change is proven real - CE Marshall CSIRO

'In the email to staff on Thursday, Marshall said that since climate change was proven to be real, CSIRO could shift its focus.

“Everybody is laughing at Marshall’s statement,” the scientist told Guardian Australia. “Who is he to declare that climate change is answered? The IPCC says so many problems are not answered yet. And unless you know how the climate is changing, how do you adapt to it?” '

'Haymet said the cuts are “a kick in the guts” to farmers, the fishing industry, the navy and people who live on the coast and is worried about sea level rise.

“We’ve only seen the beginning of climate change. We don’t know what the heck is waiting for us,” he said.'

What is certain however, is that the current government doesnt want to fund certain areas of science

Interesting isnt it, that Turnbull at the recent climate meeting in Paris refused to sign an agreement to STOP subsiding the fossil fuel industry. Poor fossil fuel multinational corporations - they need corporate socialist welfare to survive as the gouge the public purse and bugger off to overseas banking cartel scams.

In Australia, the fossil fuel industry is over 83% foreign owned and receives over 12 billion dollars of tax payer funded subsidies and grants.

So Turnbull needs to save a few million at CSIRO by de-funding the climate science division BUT wont reduce the subsidies to foreign fossil fuel corporations by a single cent.

The uncertainty is with the detailed consequences, certainly not the basic science as you seem to be insinuating, Those same scientists would laugh off such a suggestion pretty quickly.

It's another case of promotion to a level of incompetence. He obviously didn't consult the government nor any of the stakeholders. It's not an "all of government policy".

Everybody is replaceable.
