Really? I always thought offence was on the part of the person who received the comment, not some 3rd party.

Some people just aren't happy unless they can feell offended by every little thing. That doesn't make it a racist comment. Just because Goodes perceived it to be does not make it so.

Back in the day "you big ape" was a coin of phrase used to describe a big hulking man. Not an aboriginal. You hear them use it in old movies all the time where there are absolutely no aboriginals in the cast.

Now if this 12 year old said "You are an ape Goodes who has barely climbed out of the trees". Yes, I would consider that a racist remark.

Otherwise no.
