I've researched the topic since then and discovered that it is indeed widely used as a racial slur.

If you had to research it then it is hardly widespread. And if it is only a slur in some quarters then by definition it is NOT in others. Either way, making that supreme fuss and attack on a 13yo girl has destroyed his reputation and rightly so since he declined to apologise.

Our nursery rhymes are being changed because a small minority consider them sexist, racist, too political etc. No more Baa baa black sheep regardless of the fact that we do HAVE black sheep. Should we re-name the colour black?

Humpty Dumpty is now put back together and all 'happy' again.

Pretty soon we will be taken to task for calling someone a pig because a pink person may choose to be offended or an ass because someone with big ears may be offended. Roll Eyes

I just cannot relate to the mentality of those who are always choosing to be offended.

you have to admit white/semi white people have ruled it over many groups for a long time..[read history].English/French Portuguese Spanish...a lot of whites were arrogant...and thought of these people as their slaves..never their equals...and sadly many are still like that....

Some white people look down on other white people. I had Pecca and Alevine banging on about me being a pizza delivery driver and knocking me for it. Which I'm not. I wouldn't look down on anybody who is anyway. Bad things happened in the past by all groups of people around the world. There's been empires by the Romans, Greeks, Persians, Ottomans etc etc. Should white people have it thrown in their faces all the time for what their ancestors did??
