Mohammadu Nawas Saleem may not support the Islamic State.
But he is a key figure in an organisation that denounces Australia’s military efforts against the Islamic State and that believes laws prohibiting the advocating of terrorism infringe free speech.
He has called for Sharia law.  And he publicly backs an organisation that condemns Anzac Day as an attack on the caliphate.
As such, it is beyond inappropriate for Saleem to have any official role with the Australian Defence Force.
More importantly, he should have no role at all helping the government to recruit Defence personnel. The fact that he has is cause for concern. If nothing else, it undermines confidence in the ability of the Australian Defence Force to protect this nation from the Islamist threat.
Mohammadu Nawas Saleem must go.
The Liberal government must also acknowledge that it has made an embarrassing mistake with our national security.

Unless it does this, there can be no doubt that it is not serious about protecting Australia from the deadly threat that we face. It will also fail to show loyalty to the thousands of patriotic Australians who put their lives on the line for this country, and who do so believing the government has their back.

Jayzuz.  How far down has recruitment fallen?

You 'need' to attend a course now in how to get your DF interview across and make it into the Forces..... a degree in anything helps..... yet I come from an era when two Commando officers can spend five minutes with me and send me on a one man mission...... purely on knowledge and personal perception of who and what you are......

Anyway - The Forces are forever complaining about 'retention rates' - yet they want to play politically correct and chop out our very best to fill some 'political' credentials....

It seems to me obvious that those doing the recruiting have no real idea..... sorry 'bout that.

Yes - I'm pissed off that my son missed out on Duntroon.... then was rejected as 'too qualified' to join as a grunt..... FSS .... what do they imagine they want?  Some bunch of academic pussies?

He's 6'5", around 18 stone, was Captain of a university Rugby side, and swims and runs amazingly for his size.... I've said before - in the US he'd be a SEAL or straight up Special Forces ... here he can't get a look in past the 5'3 girls who have all this academic attainment..... that'll help big time when the metal meets the meat.....

We live in an era where our military imagine that the current phase of fighting semi-trained tribal wars is the only game in town..... even in Vietnam the opposition was trained, heavily armed and resolute..... and operated in division and regiment sized units.

The current lot remind me of the pre WWI British Generals.....

Jayzuz... do I want my son, or my daughter who thought about it, to be in a tight spot alongside all the PC recruits, who, in a real fight, will fall off in 2-4 weeks of pain and blood..... and be replaced by can-do people after a lot of loss and pain...?
