what on earth are you on about Athos.

Djokovic is universally liked and is a real comedian.
He is a crowd favourite.

Murray has a history of faking injuries and has constructed a cry baby narrative around himself.

to a man, all the "real" australians i know were behind Djokovic.

Add to this Murrays sheer arrogance with the ball boys and Djokovic's really good manners.

I don't mind Djokovic but man tennis has become boring and predictable now. It was like when Federer was dominating from 2004-2008. The only real debate these days is who wins the French, unfortunately it looks on lock that Djokovic has the other three. Glad I put $1000 on him to win the tournament.

I won't even mention the travesty that is women's tennis.

Q: How can you tell if a sport is corrupt?
A: Can you place a bet on it?

That's hillarious.  So you put a thousand on Williams?

She made more out of losing!!!!!!   Grin

Edit: Imagine being Williams with the power to win or lose.  The temptation would be just too much.  Tennis was made for corruption, just one person, no team to pay off.  Hitting the ball out is normal!

Australian Open: When will we learn to love Djokovic?

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/the-times-sport/australian-open-when-will-...

He is a decent man, an assiduous husband, courteous in his actions, beloved by his countrymen, and now, having won an 11th grand-slam title, including five out of the past six, one of the finest players to have flicked a racket.

And yet he still plays with crowds fiercely against him: at Wimbledon, New York, and, once again, in Melbourne, where he won a sixth Australian Open yesterday in imperious fashion. It raises the question: when will the world learn to love Novak Djokovi

The metal of a true champion is how well he can overcome adversity.....They hated McEnroe, many had disdain for Becker, & Jimmy Connors too.........Many even went to Pete Sampres' matches,  & from start to end only wished him to lose.....they all won regularly despite who did or didn't like them....they were champions.

Nothing new in any of that ..... I myself despise Andy Murray. I don't like his attitude or personality, but that's just me ,,,,, now.........If he was playing Lleyton Hewitt in the finals, any finals, I wonder if I would be alone.....

JFYI.....
there's plenty.....millions, I'd say, that like Novak....& many, many too that absolutely love him.   Wink

Get over it......stop this pity party for Novak ...... he's perfectly happy.....rich too! My money's on him being the first tennis player ever to break the $100 Million USD earnings mark. Wink

I didn't watch the tennis but I caught a sports report and I respected Novak for honoring Rod Laver and Roy Emerson

"I am extremely honored to be mentioned with the legends of our sports like Rod Laver, who is present tonight," Djokovic said. "Roy Emerson, who is not here tonight, it is a great privilege to equal your record of six Australian Opens."
