A year later he spoke at the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict alongside US Secretary of State John Kerry and actor Angelina Jolie.
He is now Diversity Council of Australia chairman.
Accepting the award, Mr Morrison said vowed to continue Ms Batty’s work.

“She has set a benchmark for us all and the scourge of domestic violence which faces us as one of our great social issues won’t be solved in a year, maybe in 50 or 100 years but it is up to us in our lifetimes to do something about it and I look forward to contributing to her great work,” he said.
He also pledged to help close the gender pay gap.
“I can’t explain why there is a gender pay gap,” he said.
“In this country between men and women across all professions of 17.8 per cent and worse in many of the professions that we are all proud to be part of.
“That needs to end.”
'gender pay gap'? Rosie's 'fighting for something? When you fight for something you are positing a need to defeat an enemy and casualties will result.... anyone worked that out yet? Not remotely a recipe for any win-win situation - but definitely one for lose-lose.
Women in the forces are equal - when they are judged on ability and not on gender. The acid test is combat. They either shape up or ship out, and his stance is one of hot air.
