Should Turnbull Ban Trump From Oz?
Jan 23rd, 2016 at 7:19am

As a fellow conservative, will Turnbull back or distance himself from Trump's nasty and hateful rhetoric?

Britain's Parliament Just Debated Banning Donald Trump From the U.K.

Contempt for his anti-Muslim rhetoric turned out to be bipartisan.

It’s not just in the U.S. that Donald Trump’s campaign for the Republican presidential nomination is making waves. This week the U.K. parliament debated whether or not Trump should be barred from entering Britain—with a depth and seriousness that might surprise outsiders.

If both the US and Oz end up with conservative governments this year, with Trump the US President, then surely we can ask how Turnbull will negotiate the madman.

Turnbull, the Trump sycophant ... or Turnbull, the destroyer of Oz - US relations. Which should it be?

Good reason to talk about Muslim refugees - look at the Paris terrorist attacks that were carried out by a number of Muslims posing as Syrian refugees. Tony made the right call in accepting only those Syrian refugees who have been waiting in UN refugee camps, not those crossing over most of Europe.

You can't be banned for being stupid, otherwise you would still be sitting in a gay bath house in Kaukapakapa, waiting for an Aussie visa that will never come.

Donald Trump target of National Review broadside labelling him 'ignorant', 'glib egomaniac'

Conservatives shaken by the rise of Donald Trump have appealed to Republicans not to support his presidential candidacy, uniting in a full-blown attack from the pages of an influential conservative magazine.

The National Review, a leading voice of the American right founded by the late commentator William F Buckley, targeted the Republican presidential frontrunner in an "Against Trump" cover, editorial and essays.

"Trump is a philosophically unmoored political opportunist who would trash the broad conservative ideological consensus within the GOP in favour of a free-floating populism with strong-man overtones," it said.

The publication followed up with essays by 22 conservative figures who took turns denouncing Mr Trump.

Calling him "astoundingly ignorant", a "charlatan", a "glib egomaniac" and plain "crazy", the conservatives expressed revulsion at the prospect of Mr Trump becoming president and what he might do to the US and the Republican brand.

"This is a crisis for conservatism," said talk show host and author Glenn Beck in one of the essays.

Understandable how some conservative posters see a likeness in Trump with Abbott.

Donald Trump should be allowed into Australia so his views can be challenged and debated....Freedom requires every man to have a voice no matter how much we do not like the message!!!

Not at all Armpit. He would not have the gumption to reject a US request, he would be carrying out instructions from the faceless RWNJ's you idolise. I bet they are waiting for Obama to go and Trump to get in ,he is more their type.

Oh, but I did! It's up to Turnbull, as the PM, to decide on such requests. The buck stops with him on that and yes - he did knock back a request from the Americans.
