Tattoos - are they catching?
Jan 20th, 2016 at 7:30am

Tattoos seem the be the big 'in thing' these days.

Past my era I'm afraid. Just remember if you do get a tattoo then it is there for duration. Removal is a painful process and invariably leaves scars.

The washed out colours of the tatts around to me look sad. Walking around with emblems of death on you or washed out bluebirds isn't my idea of a good time.

The ones that are the worst are on oldies who think they are 'hip' get tatts.

The oldie ones are the worst they look like a bunch of desperate sad sacks walking around with the new 'motiffs' on them They look laughable.

Vive La Difference, young ones can get away with it, just remember what you put on your bod is there for the duration.

Just have a little think about how they'll look when you're fifty.

the one thing about summer is all the tatts are exposed....horrible....old ladies with scribble all over their backs...ugh!...they dont think ahead do they?...

what I dislike as well.. is this penchant for loopy ear lobes....huge earring plugs...what is that all about...

I am waiting for the neck rings to kick in.. Grin Grin Grin

The low socioeconomic still think that they are cool though so you will still see them wandering the streets in a singlet in the middle of winter...  Roll Eyes

Footballers are the worst, whole arms covered in crappy tatts.

Usually done while drunk I suspect!

Tattoos cause AIDS of the eyes from watching too many assetholes strut them around.....

I've just had a kerastase thing burnt off an ear (ouch) - AIDS of the ear from listening to too many assetholes....

On women, unless they have the news tattooed on their back so you can read as you work, tattoos are a waste of often good woman flesh...... I like my women smooth and clean and feminine... not looking like a Rugby League pack player (who she might be in a different way, but who am I to comment on women's mores?).....

It's a symptom of desperately wanting to 'belong' to a tribal group in society.

Body markings to identify with a tribe are as old as the hills.

There's also the curious fashion of openly admitting to be dickheads by shaving themselves bald. Forensic historical psychiatrists of the future are going to have a field-day explaining that one.

"The 'Dickhead look', please, barber".

"Certainly sir - it's one of our more popular styles nowadays ... "

Yes, and generally used to symbolise something.  I guess they still do - they symbolise poor impulse control, lack of forethought and lack of consideration of consequences.

Peer-group pressure plays a big part in it.

Bald dickheads with full beards is another one.

And that's just the dykes-on-bikes during Mardi gras.

Personally, I'm looking for an old Sheila with a tongue stud ...  Cool
