Most whities don't want to watch too many blackies on TV. A couple of token blackies is alright but if the whole cast is blackie it becomes Good Times or the Cosby Show. That's too ghetto for most whities.

I believe it stems from what's going on with the Black Lives Matter movement and Trump. I believe the blackies and do-gooders meant what they were saying but like Pecca said used the stage to air their politics.

cods, I must agree with you about your comments on Cate Blanchett.

If ever I have seen an over rated actor it is Cate Blanchett. The only film I have seen her in where she delivered was The Lord of the Rings.

Other than that they have had as much appeal to me as a smack in the face with a dead fish.

I went to see Blue Jasmine the last movie she won an Oscar for.

I rate that movie as one of the bottom 10 movies I have seen since I started watching movies (a lifetime love) .

I was honestly gobsmacked at how pathetic that movie was and worse still how hammy and pathetic Cate Blanchett was in that role. I toughed it out because I had paid the dollars, hoping against hope it would improve alas it disappeared down the gurglar somewhere.

Next thing I knew she was getting an Oscar for it..unbelievable but hey that's Hollywood. Cheesy

You're probably right there, but then again I've never watched Situation Comedies or soapies no matter if they're all-White or all-Black.

(Correction - I did watch M.A.S.H. ... Bonanza ... The High Chaparral ... Get Smart ... Columbo ... Kojak with Telly Savalas ... Danger Man ... Mission Impossible ... Daktari ... The Man from U.N.C.L.E ... Jason King ...

... but these were decades ago ... there's been nothing since).

I did like Good Times though - the original all-Black version. Clever script, damned good acting, and a nice balance of comedy and pathos.
