Agreed!

Political donations should simply be banned, be made illegal!

to replace them with what???...

Taxpayer funding of campaigns with a spending cap. The taxpayer already funds election campaigns. Each candidate gets about $2.50 per vote if they get over 4%. Why not double this and ban donations?

Agreed, that is the place to start!

It must be less corruptible than what we currently have AND it would probably be less costly to the Public, after the current graft & corruption costs are deleted.

That is why no one in authority ever asks your opinions on anything.

Oh - I see - now our 'democracy' is one in which those elected by a dubious process now are 'Authority' and they have no duty or obligation to listen to their minions... Befehlen ist befehlen, neh?

I see, LongMania, you are beginning to see the cracks in our alleged democracy..... hence the need for a government of the people, by the people and FOR the people....

Do you think this is the first time this topic has been discussed? The 'problems' you whinge about have been dealt with. Simple solutions have been offered. You want to find out what they were go searching for them. No one here needs to repeat themselves just because you're incapable of independent thought.

Solutions that you dont have because the last time it was discussed, I was here. And no one even bothered to try and answer the problems.  That is because you are all so damnably partisan and foolish that no question can even be entertained, never mind answered

Perhaps the reason this stupid idea has never been seriously floated is because it has serious flaws that cannot be addressed.

This is why I rarely post in PolSux. You just get abuse from Longy who, like Armpit, knows nothing more than the Lib propaganda line. He can never post a link or even something that at least looks like a fact.

When horse boy posts you at least get a laugh out of the fantasy he writes.

Like the 50/50 polls you keep claiming?  or the $200B NBN and its $30B database?

You are so psychotic that you dont even know when you are fantasising.

actually, the last time this was discussed, you weren't here .... longy was.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

There is nothing partisan about banning political donations. Your problem is your head is so far up your arse, you don't understand what's written in front of you.

It is a subject that rears its juvenile head once every couple months.

And you don't have answers to the problems, do you?  Not that you even understand what they are.

That's your standard excuse.  There are no answers to these problems.

Then how do you get to be a candidate initially since you cannot take donations and you never ran before?

You seem afraid of the fact that the Libs get more donations than Labor. You could at least try and be less-partisan.

I notice that you have not made any constructive suggestions but just stand on the sideline of the discussion sniping at others. Where are your ideas? Where's your contribution?

Yes, you do. A lot.

What you never seem to do though is put forth your own ideas for discussion. If you claim there are practical problems, the onus is on you to make alternative suggestions.

Is this your tacit admission that there is no solution to the problems I identified?  YOU put up the idea and I found the problems. How about at least admitting they exist and either proposing solutions or dumping the idea.

Are you ready to admit that the 36 Faceless Men incident is an acknowledged part of history yet or are you still determined to claim it is fiction?

no, that's your standard excuse .... I'm just reciprocating.

Also in my case, I don't make crap up. The answers are there.
