It is a supreme irony to read you, Grappler, talking about no conception of reality when so much of what you say is psychotic fantasy.  The point is that the Federal Conference of the Libs decide on policies and the Caucus and Cabinet make the final decisions. Now, the ALP runs along similar signs but in 1963, the caucus had ZERO input into policies and it was all decided by the labor-movement.

A little education would help you enormously.

Here is your education:-

Highlight 1 - Your even saying that based on nothing at all is psychotic fantasy.

Highlight 2 - the article clearly says LABOR PARTY delegates.  WTS do you imagine 'caucus' etc are? They are PARTY delegates who get the gig through the system of the Party.

NOWHERE does it say the 'faceless men' were Union delegates, and you are tangling yourself up in words.

Fish in a barrel....  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin

You are one-of-a-kind (fortunately). You are like JS in that you are deficient in reasoning skills to the extent that unless something is spoon-fed to you in digestable portions, you cannot understand or accept it.  The FACTS are that these were union people as the writer and readers of this highly documented and publicised event knew at the time.

You live in a fantasy world where your opinions morph into facts and other real-world facts turn into cotton-candy.

You are however entertaining... in a zoo-animal kind of way. JS is just garden variety stupid.

You were spoon fed on precisely the wording of the newspaper article - what part of LABOR
PARTY
DELEGATES do you not understand.  Do you challenge the right of Liberal members appointed as delegates to the policy conference to attend because they are business people or whatever?

You are such a child..... and have not one iota of support for one thing you say.

Agreed!

Political donations should simply be banned, be made illegal!

to replace them with what???...

Taxpayer funding of campaigns with a spending cap. The taxpayer already funds election campaigns. Each candidate gets about $2.50 per vote if they get over 4%. Why not double this and ban donations?

It's rather simple isn't it, the outrage at having an open and accountable government that represents it's constituents , oh the horror.

I honestly can't see why anyone would object to it unless they're trying to protect their own pockets

I have no objections to chipping in to make it happen , after a Fed ICAC to clean house and mandatory jail terms for even the most minor infractions imposed for those that still want to have a stab at  lining their own pockets.

Then how do you get to be a candidate initially since you cannot take donations and you never ran before?

You seem afraid of the fact that the Libs get more donations than Labor. You could at least try and be less-partisan.

Dear insane-dribbler. You are trying to pretend a well-documented event did not take place as reported. Please advise your doctor that your medication is not working.

I doubt that many people would even know if that were true or not, it seems to me that every election campaign the conservatives are all crying because of union donations, we would be forgiven for thinking this was much more than the Liberals get.

I keep telling you the problems with the idea and being the dim-witted souls that you are, you just march on regardless with nary a thought for the practical problems.

That is why no one in authority ever asks your opinions on anything.

Do you think this is the first time this topic has been discussed? The 'problems' you whinge about have been dealt with. Simple solutions have been offered. You want to find out what they were go searching for them. No one here needs to repeat themselves just because you're incapable of independent thought.

This is why I rarely post in PolSux. You just get abuse from Longy who, like Armpit, knows nothing more than the Lib propaganda line. He can never post a link or even something that at least looks like a fact.

When horse boy posts you at least get a laugh out of the fantasy he writes.
