Correct. I've read the books. In the 19th century The British Geographic Society sponsored explorers to travel about in Africa recording things of interest for the lecturing circuit once they got back home.

The cruelty of black tribal chiefs was every bit as bad as what we are seeing from ISIS.

These frequent and horrendous practices were prohibited once the British colonised those areas.

Same with the tradition of suttee in India. The Brits saved countless lives of widows being tossed alive onto funeral pyres.

Furthermore ... once apartheid was abandoned in South Africa it opened the sluice gates for tribal genocide in the streets of the townships.

Those tribes which already had jobs in the mines and factories actively went out to look for newly-arrived Africans from north of the border who belonged to other tribes and who were looking for work - and chased them down and killed them in the streets.

And then the post-apartheid outbreak of young African men having sex with babies as a preventive for getting AIDs ...

Yes Herb, you exactly correct. Dresden was indeed an important transportation hub, and sited many industrial complexes supplying the German Military. There were many sites of "cultural value" in London, Coventry, etc.......

It was a hospital city. Not only was it bombed with napalm, the people escaping the bombing were machine gunned.

The military will always lie about atrocities to avoid dishonor and the gallows.
