What an informed and educated public our television media organisations are breeding in Australia ...

I once actually took the trouble to write (not email) to Channel Nine (could have been any of them) just to let them know they shouldn't be labouring under any delusion that they're providing a proper, adult news service, and that their pathetic performances are helping to dumb down the Viewing Audiences with an endless diarrhoea of pap-and-crap.

I received a polite pro forma letter in return ... Grin

have you tried SBS....I only have free to air.... but I find SBS will at least show some international news....the others only if its a schools being shut down thanks to a hate filled gun addict...

I think most of our channels are afraid of Human Rights. if they expose an asylum seeker doing the wrong thing....

H.R. comes out with all sorts of lists today.........and when it comes to OZ..we are already far down the list....just above ISIS I believe...at last count.. Roll Eyes

Yes ... Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia are the proof-of-the-pudding that it can be done if the political leadership has the will to do it.

The time may arrive when those four countries will become a sought-after migrant destination for Europeans and Scandinavians who want to live in a Muslim-free Western society where Islam hasn't been allowed to take root and start growing into a titanic problem for future generations.

Yeah, it can be done. But I will say that the character of Eastern European people is vastly different from the Western character. There's a 'hardness' lying just below the surface of Eastern European peoples. It should also be remembered that the self-annihilating literature that began this self-loathing crusade is North-Western (and Jewish) in origin. It's not a part of the East's culture.

I think you'll find the 'hardening' you speak of is the result of a poor people who have a lack of education. Similar to why Russians go crazy in happiness whenever Putin decides to attack someone. Its unfortunate because Eastern Europeans are known for so much literature, art, music, etc. and yet the vast hoarde of people is unfortunately uneducated to a point that it's very easy to fall into the nationalist mentality.

No one can consider Slovakia or Hungary to be 'the west'. These are still rebuilding nations, with juvenile economies and a people with communist era nationalist mentality. In fact no one would suggest Hungary or Slovakia can host refugees for it is true their infrastructure just cannot handle it.

I stay at home and let the herd vote for me nowadays ... Liberal or Labor - it's pretty much the same on all the social issues. Admittedly Abbott and Morrison broke rank to stop the Boat People - but I haven't the slightest doubt that Muslims will be arriving here over the next few years, and beyond - in their tens of thousands through legitimate channels.

Like me, the Silent Majority has nowhere provided for them to tick boxes on the ballot papers that will change the political status quo.

And even if we were to all of a sudden shift back to Australia for this discussion, if the silent majority existed as you pretend it does, all these rascist parties would see their votes significantly higher and stand a chance at winning. Instead, the most radical we had in decades, Tony, still had to pretend he was within the refugee convention. There's a reason for it. The silent majority isn't what you think it is.
