You're confusing issues.

No, the problem is that you want to pin everything on one cause.

The problem with the past is...
The problem with developing countries is...

There are enough problems in the past to fill a million libraries, and there are an equal number of them today, and will be tomorrow.

Not only that, you want everything to be condensed into 3 word slogans.

masculinity to be defined as breadwinner in the household and controller of women

It's not "confusing issues" when you incidentally mention a related issue.  Nothing exists in a vacuum.

Not at all, Wes. I'm simply pointing out that the article you heralded as some great opinion was actually a pile of horsesh1t that was probably written with 5 minutes to the deadline.  And it was. European masculinity is stronger than ever.

And there you go again.  You seem to think that by prefacing your declaration that its a pile of horseshit, with the word "actually" that it carries some authority.

My initial assessment was right:

Quote:
What a weak retort.

I would have just ignored it if that was all I could come up with.

You can go through my previous arguments for this being horsesh1t if you like, and provide some better rebuttal points then you did?

This is not your belief, but just a manifestation of your need to not only be opposed to something - but to be completely opposed to everything associated with it.  That is what makes a true believer.

I don't know how you could've come up with this. I just spent a good 2 hours explaining to you my position and why I believe masculinity is stronger than ever in Europe.  You then came up with some wishwash that didn't make much sense about how it's fair for a woman to stay at home while you go to work, and now you're pretending I'm just opposed for opposition sake? What?  Come on wes. You're meant to be the smart conservative on this forum. Show it please.

No, you spent maybe 10 minutes firing off the quickest and shallowest thoughts that came to mind on anything that had already been brought up.  The time spent specifically addressing "why masculinity is stronger than ever in europe" would've been about one minute.

You would never assert that in it's own right, only as opposition to an existing assertion.  You are a negator, not a creator, which is strongly correlated with identification with "teh left".

well if my thoughts were shallow it's only because a debate about the lack of masculinity in Europe is so absurd that it only deserves shallow thinking, and that's enough to show the argument in the opinion piece was utter nonsense.  Especially given you've moved from arguing the points to just trying to claim I've made no points worthy for you to argue.

No, it's not an absurd topic, but it probably is absurd to expect more than shallow thinking here.  Point taken.

No, it's not.  Why do you need to claim some mythical victory with every second sentence?

I found it interesting, others found it interesting, you didn't, and that's that.  You don't need to make a song and dance about how everyone else is wrong to be interested, because that's all it is - a show.  We get it, you're opposed to "teh right".

What exactly did you find interesting?

Up to you what you give me. If you can muster something more than 3 words then great. If not, then it's sufficient I guess.

More of a 4 word man myself.

"She thinks so too?"

"We are not alone."

"There is still hope."

"It's not too late"
