I don't think much of Shorten and it is a personal thought. Having said that, much of what is written about Shorten on these boards about his union dealings and private life is untrue, has been proven untrue, but makes for salacious writing and read by the "more mentally challenged" of those who post

My dislike for Shorten stems from his appearance at the Beaconsfield Mine cave in some time ago in Tasmania. I felt he was using the entrapment of two men for his own ego boost and a lot of what he was fluffing around doing was more for himself than the miners. I lost a lot of respect for him that day, and yes, the Labor Party can do much better than him as their Leader.

Bill then took over and became the star reporter..opportunity knocks.. I dont know but I think that may have been a turning point for Paul Howes...
