I haven't seen that reported (the 'drowning' part).

I've seen no official 'cause of death' yet.

All the stories I've read had confirmed the deaths, but nothing more.

He was suffering from depression, apparently. I read yesterday that there was a gun in the car when they dragged it up. Nothing about it in the above article that I could see, but there are pictures of the man, wife and 2 sons.

Very sad.

I didn't see anything about the gun being in the car, it's not uncommon for guns to be thrown into the water from wharves.

"The white station wagon sank in up to 30 metres of water, with police saying the incident appeared to have been a murder-suicide.

"They said a rifle had been recovered from the car."

I did wonder what he did/didn't do with the gun and why it was there. The mind boggles!

It does sound like he was an undiagnosed Bipolar sufferer. His family said that he had "changed" in the last 3 years.

There are 2 "types" of Bipolar ..... Bipolar 1 and Bipolar 2. One tends to strike when people are in their late teens or early 20s and the other Bipolar when they are around 30ish or a bit older. (According to what I read about it years ago).

IF his family had been able to reason with him to seek help and get some medication ..........

The CORONER will, eventually, decide on the cause of death. Meanwhile ............

Baronvonrort doesn't understand that.

He seems to think that if the police see a bullet hole, they immediately tell all reporters that the death was caused by a gunshot wound.

Case closed - off to lunch!

Just as ridiculous as that scenario is, so is assuming that the deaths were caused by drowning just because the bodies were found in water.

None of us know how they died.

We can all take a guess, but none of us know ... yet.

I'm not ruling out drowning, gun shot wounds, or anything else at this stage.
