For us who are left behind what would drive a man to kill his children and himself?

Was it society

Was it marital

Was it illness

macca he left a suicide note...as if there can be any reason at all to take those boys with him...

but for now that might give some insight to his family at least....

for me I cant imagine what would drive a person to do this....and why it seems to happen more and more to every day people who seem to have the world at their feet....

I feel sorry for people like him....its almost impossible to comment on the subject for some ...

its all about them...as tragic as this is.....they want to talk about THEMSELVES>...and how smart they think they are...

I may start a personal thread for him.. so he can make all his comments without the shame of lowering this thread....

DAMIEN Little packed his tiny boys Koda, 4, and baby Hunter, nine months, into his car, stopped at a McDonald’s drive-through and bought a takeaway coffee, and then he did the unthinkable.

The 34-year-old shot himself and his two boys in a bloody double-murder-suicide before driving off the wharf and plunging about 30m into Boston Bay in his Ford station wagon.

Clinical psychologist Dr Janet Hall told news.com.au that Little’s decision to visit McDonald’s was a common behaviour exhibited by a person “trying to normalise a situation”.

“I think there was a total commitment to what he was about to do but a kind of protective mechanism human beings have where they go into trying to normalise the situation,” she said.

“For him it’s like normalising it and saying ‘I’m not really about to kill myself and the kids’.

“It’s called cognitive dissonance — it means that you’re conflicted and to make sense out of it you grab hold of something that’s normal.”

Dr Hall said Little probably bought the kids something from McDonald’s as a “last supper”.

“You don’t go to McDonald’s with kids in the car and get away without getting them something,” she said.

“It would have been like a last supper or last treat for them. It’s a way of pretending this terrible tragedy isn’t going on.”
Eyre Peninsula Police superintendent Paul Yeomans released the shocking details of the autopsies on the bodies on Friday, pending a full report being provided to the Coroner.

“Autopsies have revealed that Mrs Little’s two young children suffered gunshot wounds prior to entering the water, as did Mr Little prior to driving over the wharf,” Supt Yeomans said.

“The coronial investigation is still ongoing and issues including domestic violence and mental health will form part of that report to the Coroner.”

South Australia police told news.com.au yesterday that no further details would be released in relation to the January 4 incident as the investigation continues.

He drove the car off a wharf and they drowned, I don't see the relevance of the gun in this story.

Can you see the relevance yet?

"The 34-year-old shot himself and his two boys in a bloody double-murder-suicide before driving off the wharf and plunging about 30m into Boston Bay in his Ford station wagon."

“Autopsies have ... revealed that Mrs Little’s two young children suffered gunshot wounds prior to entering the water, as did Mr Little prior to driving over the wharf,” Supt Yeomans said.

Totally agree.  If they are "religious" then they are even more suspect.

WHY would a father shoot his little boys?  Why didn't he just shoot himself?  Did he attend the local Church? Did he believe in Heaven? Sometimes people with a MENTAL ILLNESS think outside the box ... i.e. HEAVEN. However, unless he had seen a Psychiatrist, who would know what he was thinking.

VERY sad.

to think that you live with this person..and you have no idea what they are really capable of doing....how is it possible???....

I wouldnt be able to live with myself..

something had to be there.....we dont pay attention to each other anymore....we really dont..

we are a totally selfish society... Cry Cry Cry
