Murder Suicide Dad An Everyday Bloke

If this is what an everyday bloke is, then there's something terribly wrong here.

Many things can cause a person to snap and do something out of character.  Maybe the vast predominance of women walking out on their marital relationships through 'not feeling validated' need to share some responsibility.

This society has a lot to answer for with its treatment of men to 'equalise' women.  You can trust me when I say that the day will come when it does answer.

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time - but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

you know so many people are going to feel some guilt over this..........why didnt we see this.....what did we miss.... were we so busy we didnt pick up there was something wrong......

you do ask yourself so many questions..

as hindsight is a remarkable thing..

maybe we are too busy today....we assume a lot...take things for granted....

we are for sure missing something.....

Geoff Hunt killed his wife Kim and their 3 children.in Lockhart not long ago...another tightnit community..shaken to their core.

its happening far too often for it to be ignored...

Here you go.  http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/tributes-for-young-port-lin...

He was suffering from depression, apparently.  I read yesterday that there was a gun in the car when they dragged it up.  Nothing about it in the above article that I could see, but there are pictures of the man, wife and 2 sons.

Very sad.

The guy just went mental.

he lost his mind.

Ive seen a horse lose its mind, just started shaking like a leaf, i jumped off just as it jumped into a barbed wire fence.

How do you prevent this happening?

You work on helping people control themselves and their fears .

You make them feel safe with good confident leadership.
You treat them firm but fair.
You are kind, encouraging and challenging.

This is gone from the lifestyle of many people.

Good nutrition
Good positive psychology (ignore the negative neurotic media)
Good sleep.
Good social circle.
If you have a relationship with anyone , at home , in your family , in your workplace which is toxic....cut it off.

Positive psychology is where we need to focus.

the whole focus of psychology, mental health and counselling is on whats WRONG with people.
lets work on whats RIGHT.

we dont let our cars go til they breakdown.we service them
we should be regularly servicing people with doses of self help (people are more fragile then cars )

Sorry. Was very busy with the kids.

http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2016/01/06/port-lincoln-father-battled-mental...

Relatives of Port Lincoln man Damien Little have visited the spot where he took his own life and the lives of his two small boys as details of his battle with mental illness emerged.

Early on Monday, Mr Little drove his car off the main wharf in the Eyre Peninsula town and into 30 metres of water, killing himself and his two sons, 10-month-old Hunter and Koda, 4.

His family has now revealed the 34-year-old had suffered with mental health issues for the past three years.

"We had noticed a change," his mother Sue told the Adelaide Advertiser.

"We tried to help him, we all did. But you can't help somebody who can't help himself.

The revelations of Mr Little's troubled life came as others who knew him said he was respected and well liked.

"It's just a shocking thing to have happen out of the blue and for no reason that we knew of," Wheatsheaf Hotel owner Peter Watherston said on Tuesday.

"He and his brother used to pop out for a beer."

South Australian Commissioner for Victims' Rights Michael O'Connell said the heart-wrenching incident had caused anguish for the family and friends.

But he also urged people not to rush to blame Mr Little, even those who might find murder by a parent to be among the "cruellest of tragedies."

"We do not know the reasons Damien did what he appears to have done and speculating helps neither the family nor the people of Port Lincoln," he said.

As well as tributes on social media, locals have created a makeshift memorial of flowers, teddy bears and other items along the edge of the wharf.

In writing on a football jumper one mourner wrote "RIP Little Legends".

Mr Little's parents and other relatives visited the site on Tuesday as police released two family photos which appeared to show a happy couple and their children.

In one, Mr Little and his wife Melissa are sitting on a beach with their two smiling young boys resting in their laps.

why does it always come down to depression....??

really... its not as if depression is something NEW...it isnt..what was wrong with his life to be depressed about?????..he sounds as if he was very successful in what he chose to do....why take the lives of two beautiful children... that you have no right to take.

how can anyone say depression made him want to kill his own children???

it sounds more like he hated them....or his wife who now has to find a way to go forward after the unspeakable.....he left a long suicide note......he had time to seek help or answers......but chose not too..

My dear sweet Cods, you're trying to make sense of the internal processes of a seriously depressed person.

I don't think you'll get far.

mammals have nervous breakdowns.
mammals have nervous breakdowns more if they live in a state of high anxiety.
anxiety is intimately linked to depression.

nearly everything humans do raises anxiety and reduces coping.

they eat crap, they fool around on the internet, they dont exercise and get good endorphins, they fill their head with neurotic media, .

you tell the average person to sit quietly in an empty room for 2 hours without their iphone and they will nearly HAVE a nervous breakdown, such is their addiction to the never ending influx of stimulation

when they mention depression... from which I gather he had never been diagnosed.....

they are looking for excuses......

maybe they should do an autopsy on his brain....maybe he was a drug addict....well hidden as we know they are prone to do...

but this isnt depression.....yes he may kill himself....BUT MURDER???

not "linking " it to a horse
i am saying that completely unexpected suicides occur when the mind is lost.
and that this could be reduced if we taught people how to "use their mind " properly.

the mind can be exercised like any other muscle.

if you live in a durrrrrr state and dont exercise it , it gets weak and can break ,
if you dont exercise your back it gets weak and can break.

preventative medicine innit
