It goes to the heart of our hypocricy on these matters - Islamist terrorists are the most vile people on earth because they use their sinister beliefs to justify murder of innocents. But western militaries are infinitely more civilised when we kill civilians by the thousands by dropping bombs on them. We use limp wristed language like 'collateral damage' to pretend we are somehow morally superior than the terrorists.
