My father worked in a abattoirs for 30 years . I worked at the same place on a casual basis. It's a very faced paced environment. Meat goes of quick so time is the essence. You can't just walk off like you can in other jobs. The chain of production gets broken. Obviously the company thought they were a problem. Religion is meant for sunday and home.

Yes, there would be a very limited time meat could be in an abattoir. That's only one step in the path to the customers plate.
