Renewable energy produces less electricity at a much greater cost, why should we have to subsidise it?

5 trillion a year in diesel subsidies world wide. Lets get rid of them as well Wink

Typical leftist megalomaniacs  wanting to dictate to the whole world. Grin Cheesy

so you want to keep deisel subsidies but get rid of renewable subsidies ? Typical rightard bowing down at the feet of greed incorporated and their fossil fool muck Sad

The topic is subsidies for electricity production like a typical retarded brain dead leftist you are crapping on about something not relevant to this thread.

Why do dikhead leftists want to tax farmers more, do you want to pay more for food when they pass the costs on to the consumers?

The correct question is why do coles and woolies screw the farmers all of the time and pay them subsistence money ? Greed incorporated up to it's old tricks again.

Regarding renewables why do punters who install PV solar on their roof only receive 6 cents per kwh when it is onsold by Origin Energy and the rest of the scammers for 25 cents per kwh ? Who are receiving the subsidies now  ?

I have had arguments with a lot of people who think the solution to global warming is to heavily subsidise renewable energy - ie to compete with the fossil fuel subsidies, or use a carbon tax to subsidise clean energy.

Electricity is not some kind of fundamental human right. At the very least, we should be charged what it costs to produce and distribute. One of the cheapest ways to reduce our GHG emissions is to use less electricity.

The other way is to offer parity for feedins to the grid and then itemize the maintenance of the grid separately instead of stealing energy from the punters and then ripping someone else off !!

When fossil fuels where discovered they were heralded as cheap energy for rich and poor alike, of course this was when the government of the day ran the country.

Now with corporations in charge in most western nations what they are basically saying is energy is for those that can afford it.

I'm not a rich man so energy prices do concern me, I don't give a rats arse if its left or right, its what is right for the majority of people who are hard working citizens that need a job to survive.

Cheap energy is what brought the western world out of the dark ages, do you now want to send us back there...!!!

With more Australian jobs going to low cost centres in India and China in a few more years we'll be lucky to have a job.

Anyone notice the empty seats at the cricket this summer...???
