True or false?
Dec 26th, 2015 at 9:37am

Not one golf tee did I get yesterday, but I did get a small metal box containing a pile of small cards upon which 'crazy urban myths' are printed.  The blurb says...'People do the strangest things and here are some of the weirdest.  Whether they are real or not is open for debate, but it'll make for fascinating discussion.'

Here is the first:

A dead man travelled back and forth across Indonesia on a train for most of a day before anyone realised he'd died.

I reckon that one is bullshit.  Elsewhere, Monk pointed out it is very unlikely that anyone could go on said train trip in what is the archipelago of Indonesia.  I've not checked google...........but I reckon that one is false.

Next:

The musician Frank Zappa called his daughter 'Moon Unit.'

Okay.  I'm not checking as that would be beside the point.  Next.

Frank Zappa certainly called his daughter Moon Unit. She goes by Moon these days.

Ostriches don't bury their heads in the sand. That's a myth.

They used to have a ferry from Darwin to Indo and you could find ferries to the Asian mainland ... I was planning a world trip by small van... but the bastards have vanished the ferry service from Darwin...

It would be hard to travel by train all across Indo..... but on one island maybe...

Pardon me, Sir.. but are you asleep?  I think we missed your stop...... Sir?  SIR?

They use ferries for the trains?  I looked up the ferry from Darwin to Indo and it said 'no more'..... plenty of ferries in the islands and up to the Philippines.....

No. You can travel java by train, thats about it, you cannot island hop except by boat. Sumatra has some train routes. I went Jakarta to jogyakarta because I wanted to see Borobodur. It was well worth it. Dont even consider travelling Indo by car, there are almost no car ferries and none between the major islands of java, Sumatra, Sulawesi etc.

Patients in a particular bed of a hospital's intensive care unit always seemed to to die at 11 o'clock on a Sunday morning.  When officials investigated they discovered that the part-time janitor was unplugging their life-support machines in order to plug in his vacuum cleaner.

I'll say false........reckon the life support machines would have an automatic backup power source if they were inadvertently unplugged.

it was a long time ago that I heard the story, so details are sketchy at best, but i think it was in some 3rd world shithole.
