So mariacostel..you're an Urban Soldier, Maria are you?..  But not Urban enough to know that you shouldn't pass judgement on victims and that is the offence LOUD AND CLEAR that you are guilty.

I don't disbelieve you when you say you have risen above your own troubles. I personally know a lot of victims who have done exactly that.

What you don't get....is that just because you have risen become successful, it doesn't ,make the trauma you have been through any less.

And that...is the point you just don't get!!!!!!!

No, the trouble is that ALL you think about is the trauma!  As for 'passing judgment', maybe you should join stunspore and JS in the reading comprehension class.  If anyone is passing judgment it is you in condemning them to victimhood.  WINNING means leaving things behind and FORGIVING the perpetrators.

One of the great stories is that of dutchwoman Corrie ten Boom, Auschwitz survivor whose family was gassed while she was rescued. Many years later, she was speaking at a conference (on forgiveness) and a man came up to her and told her that he had been a guard at Auschwitz when she was there. She forgave him and hugged him - a man whose actions had been part of a murderous regime that had claimed her entire family and almost herself. That was true forgiveness in action. And this old woman who had been through hell and survived lived to her 90s.

This is what I am talking about. She was NEVER a victim and she helped tens of thousands of others to cast aside victimhood.

you really are a case arent you??

so if someone murdered your family you would be happy to forgive them and move on as if nothing had happened???...

and this is how you think everyone should be when it comes to any crime against them...???

really??

do you think the families of the Belanglo FOrest murders..should hug Ivan Milat and forgive him so he can walk amongst us...a free man... why not.. Roll Eyes

you do realise that the man she was fogiving was not the one that actually pushed her family into the ovens.. he was just part of a system.....

just like the jail keeper is just part of the system...

you in fact have been very personal and rude to people on here..

why dont you just forgive them and turn the other cheek if its all that simple..

these are just words you are dealing with there are no scars to bear whether visible or non visible.... Angry

Bravo! bravo! maria costel...what a stunning response. I am genuinely impressed by that story, it encompasses everything I believe in. You should be able to forgive everyone everything.

Unfortunately maria not everyone has the strength and resolution of your heroine whom I truly admire.

Many, many, many victims struggle. Would you caste those souls into the gutter because they cannot overcome their their trauma.

Wake up to yourself you are writing like an academic idiot.

You won't find all your solutions written in a textbook.

Is there any chance that in some possible future time or parallel universe that you may have the capacity to understand what is written?  Who is 'casting those souls into the gutter'?  What the contrary, you idiot. I am stating that in the case of Hughes his victims have gone on to have great lives - through their own efforts.  And it is the pursuit of moving on and pass trauma that brings these successes.

Now please try your best to misinterpret that.

You know what maria?....I get frustrated at people like you who sit on the sidelines with their textbooks and adjudicate how victims should act.

Going from your comments here I would say you haven't come within a bull's roar of being on the scene of a tragic incident be it, a personal attack occasioning grievous bodily harm, a rape or a combination of both, a murder etc.

Books are great, books are fonts of knowledge but you can't beat the real hard graft of being on the front line.

Meeting victims soon after the event, dealing with it all, the right way.

Frankly, you don't have the first idea. You aren't qualified because you haven't been there done that..

Like I said, an academic idiot. And I say that comment based on your posts on this subject.

Everyone has a cross to bear of one kind or another.  Some hang onto it.  Others drop it as way too heavy, move on and leave the heavy thing behind them.  Others live off it.

That's three Australian celebs.

That doesn't even come close to "routine".

If you can name me 30, then I might start to agree with you.

Three - seriously?

where does it say that???>..

you cant see the difference between a system or regime.. and one person....a guard is not the perp...he did not strip the bodies and shovel them into mass graves...there is a difference..

if you thought forgiving someone was the answer you wouldnt be so rude and abusive as you are on here...

so not good preaching about someone you have never met or likely to meet..

she sounds like a very courageous women.. just to survive and live on after something so evil...but she would not be alone there were millions like her..at that time.. and we all know men did things during wars they would never do at other times....

this man didnt do it just the once....he did it whenever he got the chance...

.it wasnt a system that made him act that way.. it was his choice..

Three.

You have named three Australian celebs who have been in court over child sex abuse.

How, by any stretch of the imagination, is that "routine"?

She's exactly the same as red.

If the court makes a decision that she likes - "our system is working".

If the courts make a decision that she doesn't like - "our system is useless".

Her posts are, at times, most certainly disgraceful.

To say "Maggie Kirkpatrick almost got caught" is just disgusting.

The victims of Robert Hughes are leading great lives are they Maria? Would you care to go on record as to whom precisely you are referring to?

Please provide the names, as obviously you are oh fey with exactly how these great survivors are going. From what I have seen the victims who have come forward on TV. From what I have seen they are still greatly traumatised.

You put the cards on the table maria, now provide the proof.
